General Mach Discussion / switched PC now the motors stutter
« on: August 16, 2018, 04:29:35 PM »
The PC that has been driving my CNC mill for the last 4-5 years just died so I put together another one and put a fresh copy of windows 7 32bit installed Mach3, then copied over the xml and license file. The problem is when I jog the motors all 3 axis are stuttering, not running smooth. What should I be looking for?

I compared the .xml's from the old machine to the new machine after it was running and came up with a few differences, I'll attach a photo of the list and the .xml's.

Thanks for any help.

General Mach Discussion / Circular bolt pattern wizzard question
« on: July 11, 2012, 11:10:47 AM »
I am looking to drill a bolt pattern on the race car hubs I'm building, when I put X=0 Y=0 in the wizard it doesn't put the origin in the center. to get it close it takes  X= -2.55 Y= -3.5. That gets it close but no way to tell for sure where the actual start point is.

Am I overlooking something? I thought the origin would be the center of the circular pattern.

General Mach Discussion / Switching computer woes
« on: September 01, 2011, 01:29:00 PM »
Hi,

i have been running mach3 for several months, My computer is on it's last leg. I am trying to replace it similar performance but newer machine. The new machine has no parallel card so i bought the Roswell from newegg that was linked in a previous thread, installed it with the linked driver from the chipset manufacturer. I also copied my XML file from the old machine to the new install.

I have no output from the parallel card to the G540, I checked with meter on the pins, Also checked the parallel card with a LED driver program and it works, the address in Mach is set to the same one that works with the LED driver program. When I run driver test I get "pulses to fast". What is it telling me?

I am not a computer guy, I prefer to hit things with a hammer. :)

Any advise?

Brian
