General Mach Discussion / External e-stop
« on: June 26, 2012, 06:46:03 AM »
Please help, machine is driving me nuts
I run cutting and machining programs and no matter what g-code i run randomley my machine shuts down and says "External E-stop requested". I have wired out all the external stop buttons to eliminate this, checked all limit switches for loose cables or bad connections, fitted a large earth strap from the machine to fuse board ground. Debounce is set to 3500.  Don't know what else to check
Thanks in anticipation
Gary

General Mach Discussion / cutting problems
« on: August 24, 2011, 05:29:22 AM »
Hi, any help would be appreciated

i have a problem when cutting material, i am using a 10mm 3flute down cut spiral, when cutting the bit plunges into the work at a given point, cutting what it is told to and when it reaches the end the bit is retracting and leaving a small blip on the work, i am sure it is something to do with tool offset as the tool enters at a point then finishes where the trailing edge of the cutter entered, thus giving me this annoying uncut material at the end of the work, i am using cut2d to generate g-code, below is a copy of the g-code at the start of the program, this is just cutting a circle out of the centre of the work
