General Mach Discussion / Mach3 Turn - Constant surface speed question
« on: September 30, 2013, 02:18:27 PM »
Evening.
Ive had my Denford Mirac PC lathe converted to Mach3 several weeks ago now, and ive never got to grips with the spindle speed value boxes.
If in the CGode there is an G97 (constant SPINDLE speed ), then it takes the 's' value as a G96 code
For example:
if i wish to do some threading, and i have the lines
G97 m03 s250 - which should be 250rpm
it sets the CSS to 250, and revs the spindle up to 5krpm (verified by using a tacometer)
its only been doing this a day or so so im presuming ive mis-clicked on something.
can anyone please tell me how to stop it doing this.
on another note
after ive ran a program (and CSS is on), how do i turn it off, say if i want to turn manually and set the spindle to a constant speed?
pressing reset, or setting the CSS +% counter to 0, or typing in any value just defaults to CSS
if you require pics i can get them but it will be tomorrow when im back at the workshop
thanks in advance
Keith
