General Mach Discussion / 5 axis control
« on: October 03, 2020, 10:58:52 AM »
If I purchase a license of Mach 3, will it control 5 axis? I've built a small 5 axis machine (just for fun, to see if I could do it), so of course I need a controller.

General Mach Discussion / Interference issue
« on: October 17, 2012, 12:49:04 PM »
We have an old electric eye tracking, ox-acetylene flame cutting table that we've converted to CNC using Mach3. The machine works fine except when one of the welders strikes an arc & starts welding. It causes Mach3 to display an E-stop or limit switch alarm. As you might imagine this has caused some scrap.
Does anyone have suggestions on how I might be able to fix this issue?

General Mach Discussion / Homann MB-02
« on: June 10, 2011, 11:00:14 AM »
I'm trying to determine which breakout board to buy. I'm looking at the Homann MB-02 board. Is anyone familiar with this? I need to be able to integrate 3 each SSRs to control some 120vac solenoids, can I do that with this board?

General Mach Discussion / Motors not running
« on: June 09, 2011, 02:09:35 PM »
I am trying to get my setup working for the 1st time, but my motors are not turning.
I have a Pico universal stepper controller, 2 gecko 201x drives & 2 gecko 23NEMA motors.
I'm pretty sure I've setup Mach3 correctly, but although the screen DRO shows jog movement, my motors are not turning.
Where should I start looking to fix this?

General Mach Discussion / Controlling 120v solinoids
« on: June 09, 2011, 10:29:19 AM »
We are converting an old oxy-acetylene flame cutting machine to CNC, this is our 1st attempt at something like this. We're using a PICO Systems Universal Stepper Controller as our control board.
The machine has 3 120v electro magnets that open the valves to allow the gases to flow to the torch. Can anyone help us with how to use SSRs to operate these?
