General Mach Discussion / is it my computer or is it mach 3
« on: February 28, 2013, 03:15:01 PM »
Hi, Ever since I started using my cnc, I've had various issues with it in reguards to mach and the computer I'm using. Most of the time it raises its ugly head and does something I didnt tell it to, or not done something I did tell it to.  The issue usually can be rectified at least temporarily by hiting estop and restarting which makes me think its having problems with macros or some such.

I bought and used the 2010 screen until it seemed like my machine simply didnt have enough ram to run with it without having major problems.   I reverted back to big tex's blue screen adaptation as I relally like having the tool change macros.  But while the issues pop up less often they still pop up.

My computer is a wimpy hp, I'll attach a screen shot of the system info but I'm starting to think it may be the entire problem.

Any and all info/help appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / Feed Rate Override
« on: February 28, 2013, 10:50:56 AM »
Hi, This is probably a dumb question but if you use the on screen fro to speed things up, does it speed up the g0 speed?
i have notice that using it to lower the speed does effect the rapid move speed so does it do the same when you speed itup?

General Mach Discussion / Turning off the display
« on: October 06, 2012, 08:36:22 PM »
I found that turning off the display using the button on the diagnostics page relieved a number of problems I've been having but when I restart mach I have to set it again, is there something I can do to make it stick?

General Mach Discussion / what version for a feed hold that works
« on: August 18, 2012, 11:15:22 PM »
I used to use an old version of mach, when I hit feedhold I could jog away and do whatever, then hit cycle start and it would do a preperatory move and wait for cycle start. after upgrading to Mach3 R3.043.022, i find it doesnt work anymore, no preperatory move, simply executes the next block.  Which version do i need to upgrade to where this is fixed? While I'm at it, which dev version are pretty stable?

General Mach Discussion / feed speed not matching
« on: April 18, 2012, 11:26:39 AM »
hi, I'm new to mach3 so maybe this has been covered tho I was unable to come up with keywords to find answers.

when I set feedrate to 30ipm it only gets up to 27.87 max, even on straightaways, is this a known issue? could it have something to do with the big-tex screen I'm using?
