General Mach Discussion / Understanding Mach3 pulses

As I understand it, the Default setting for Mach3 is 25kHz but I need to understand more of how this works in practice.

Does this mean that   pulses to the Stepper Drivers are transmitted at this speed?

If so, does the number of stepper motor drivers affect the overall speed?

I am building a circuit that is required to physically count the pulses, are they 'clean' pulses or will I have to introduce some sort of 'debounce' into the circuit?

And finally, is the direction pulse of the same length as the positioning pulses and/or will that too require debouncing?

Hello folks,
I am attempting to program a microprocessor to provide for an on screen position display by counting the pulses from the BOB to the stepper driver.  As I understand it, Mach3 can be set up to provide either a high or low level signal for 'DIR'.  What I need to know is: is the DIR signal in the form of a pulse transmitted simultaneously with a step pulse, or is the 'DIR' signal a constant high (or low) for a sequence of step pulses.  If it is the former, it would greatly simplify matters as I could use a 'DIR' pulse to decrement the pulse count

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi folks,

I would appreciate some help.  I am installing CAM software and it requires to know which type of machine I will be using (FANUC, etc.).  What type of machine is Mach3?
