General Mach Discussion / pulse rating
« on: September 14, 2012, 07:59:38 PM »
Back to ground zero

My pc got a virus I ended up having to erase the hard drive an reload my backup disc.

my back up disc were made when i got pc but i hadnt backed up mach 3.

I had to down load microsoft  service pack  1, 2 and 3 .

I down loaded mach 3 lic but when I am trying to config I cannot get any motor movement.

I went to check driver test it show 0 pulse rating ?   Is this the reason i cannot get any motor movment.

General Mach Discussion / new to cad cam more questions
« on: July 04, 2011, 06:42:46 PM »
                                                                          good day everyone
my 6in round circles are not round
there are 2 flat spots  one on each side of the circle  at 3,30 to 4 o clock  and 180 % out 930 to 10 o'clock.
both flat spot are about 1.5 long inches  the same .
this where i guess.    I'm thinking it is backlash  and its OK if I'm thinking wrong
i am reading my manual as i am writing this.
if this is a backlash adjustment  how do i know which axis to set or have a problem with.  I'm at 1511 units per inch
is there troubleshooting manual or a book that i can get or  buy, download.
it is hard to keep on asking questions I'm sure the answer is in my manual .
p.s  i check on some schools here in town  to see if i could pick up a class on cad /cam . it is very sad  no classes, closest class is 165 miles  one way.
once again thank you for helping me
 Mike

 drivers set 1/16 x y and
z axis   10 tpi with 5 starts points
1435.11per step per unit  i was  0.012  over 74.5 in of travel  i have had a tuff time figuring this out
set gantry router bit at 37.250    zero x axis   middle of x axis
i go to setting to step per unit   x axis pick a axis to calibrate  2 in check with dro caliper I'm at 2 in
i jog back to zero  middle of table i us the pick a axis to calibrate  x azis this time
step per unit X axis 20.0in   it gose 20.0 in  im right on 20.0
again i go steps per unit -20.0 to go back to zero  middle of table  X axis moves 19.5 in  i m not doing math right
