General Mach Discussion / Control feedrate with rotary encoder switch.
« on: February 02, 2013, 07:03:27 AM »
Hi Everyone,

Ive seen these 20ppr greyscale rotary encoder switches on Ebay.
10 for about $6.
I was just thinking maybe they would make a good feedrate overide control.
Has anyone done this?
Would be great to hear if it worked well or not.

Cheers Allan.

Hi Everyone.

I bought one of those cheap hand controllers from Ebay for$38.
Took quite a bit to set it up and get it working. Now it works but when you use the handwheel it moves the axis then when you stop the axis is still moving because it didint keep up with the handwheel.  It does some funny things some times.
Like if I do any thing where text can be typed it just fills it with the letter r and just keeps going until I unplug it.
Anyone else tried it? any luck?
Would be a nice bit of gear if it worked properly.
