General Mach Discussion / Touch Plate Help Needed Please
« on: February 17, 2016, 04:53:58 PM »
I installed an ethernet smoothstepper and now my touch plate is not functioning properly.  All the proper led's light up only the router does not stop and retract as before.  If I ground the touchplate directly everything works as it should. If I put the ground to the router bit, the probe led lites but the router does not stop.
Before the smoothstepper was installed I did not need a ground wire to the router but I do now or there is no led lit up.

I have tried many different configurations as well as diff. screensets yet the same problem occurs.

I appreciate any help that is provided.

Thanks

Greg

General Mach Discussion / Big Tex Screenset
« on: June 17, 2015, 10:54:21 PM »
A big thank-you to Big Tex for walking me through a set up difficulty with his latest screenset. My computer was somehow not sizing correctly and there was an overlap of dro's. Thomas spent an hour on the phone with me and was very patient until everything worked properly.

General Mach Discussion / Touch Plate Issues-Please help
« on: June 01, 2015, 03:00:01 PM »
I am having difficulty setting up my touch plate and would appreciate any sound advice.  I have enabled the probe, port 1, pin 15 active low. The touch test light immediately comes on. When I cancel active low the light goes out.
My PMDX pin 15 light will light up as it should when I ground the touch plate, however this does not communicate to the Mach software. I have tried different cabling and different inputs with the same results. I have checked the grounds which seem fine.

Does this appear to be a communication error and would (should) a smoothstepper possibly rectify this situation?  Or am I likely to be overlooking a Mach setting?

Thank You

Greg

Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / Surfacing Wizard Help Please
« on: July 18, 2011, 09:35:31 AM »
I have attempted to use the surfacing wizard but my table dimension values keep going back to the default settings. I am likely missing something, just unsure what it is. Could someone please let me know the correct process.

Thanks in advance.

General Mach Discussion / Motor Tuning Issues
« on: May 23, 2011, 01:25:14 PM »
I am having a difficult time tuning my steps per inch. I am able to cut a square 5 x 5 piece of plywood within 5/1000 ths of an inch but when I use the same settings to measure a distance (sheet of 97" melamine), the DRO reads just over 88 inches.  Very large discrepancy and if I set the steps per inch in relation to the 97" melamine my 5 x 5 inch square is more like a 5 x 4 rectangle.
I have searched but I do not see anyone else that has had such a large diff. in readings.  This only occurs in the x-direction, as the y and z seem fine.

Thank-you for any assistance.
