General Mach Discussion / Motion Controller
« on: September 18, 2020, 12:25:44 PM »
I know there is been some discussion on the UC300 controller but I am having problems getting the motors to run on mach3. The inputs are all working properly so I know communication is working. I believe that I do not have the ports and pins configued properly. I set them like the manual showed. I am using xp. Can anyone tell me which port and pins I should be using? Any help would be appreciated. This is the usb controller.

General Mach Discussion / Found my problem
« on: August 03, 2010, 12:38:51 AM »
Quite some time ago I had a hard time getting my machine to run. Some might remember because I got a lot of help from forum members. I finally got it working but I still kept getting intermitent problems. I finally found the problem. I was using the 5volt supply from my computer power supply. It seems that there was a problem with the power supply. The voltage would intermitently drop to around 3 volts. Strangely enough the PC wasn't effected. I added an external supply and have not had a problem since.

General Mach Discussion / Anybody got a number

For Wildhorse Innovations? I ordered a probe over 2 weeks ago and have not gotten it. I sent a 4th email to them today and they do not even bother to reply. My credit card has been charged since 7/20. There is no phone number on their website.

General Mach Discussion / Really odd problem
« on: March 12, 2010, 11:39:10 AM »
I need to cut a path for inserting an o-ring. It is extremely simple, but my toolpath on the machine computer is not the same as my g-code. I drew it up in Bobcad and generated a g-code. The simulation works correctly. When I load it in mach3 on my office pc it works properly. My pc's are on a network and I load it in mach3 on the machine pc I get a different toolpath. I have regenerated the program and also created a different program and it still does the same thing. I am attaching a dxf that shows the difference.

General Mach Discussion / dro's no movint
« on: February 01, 2010, 11:11:52 AM »
I had problems before with parallel port not working. My machine is home built and I did not like some of things I did mechanicly so I rebuilt my machine. Now I am starting from scratch with a different pc. I downloaded mach3 and rebooted. At that point my dro's worked. I configured my motor outputs and my dro's now do not move. I uninstalled mach and started over but the same thing happened. I am attaching xml file. Keep in mind that the only thing I have done is configure motor outputs.

General Mach Discussion / Parallel port problem
« on: October 10, 2009, 04:01:35 PM »
Having trouble with my port. I built a test jig that will allow me to test the voltage with my breakout board connected. All pins are high with the exception of pins 17 & 18.  I have tried changing the onbord port mode with no results. The choices I have are normal, bidiectional, ECC, and EPP. None of them make a difference.  I am using address 378 and irq7.  I disabled the onboard port and installed a new board which does the same thing. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / No output from parallel port
« on: September 26, 2008, 10:03:20 AM »
My machine was working fine until I lost an output on my breakout board. I changed a chip on the board and now I cannot get anything to work. I ran a driver test which went through the process and I got nothing on the window. I reinstalled Mach 3 and rebooted. I then ran the driver test and everything looked good but I still have no output to the board. I have no outputs or inputs. I ran the driver test and got the same thing as before, nothing on the window. I had this problem when I started up my computer after updating to a new motherboard, and harddrive but somehow it started working. It seems as if the parallel port is not working. I looked in the device manager and it says it is working properly. Any suggestions?
