LazyTurn / Index pulse C3 and G540
« on: April 26, 2012, 11:10:04 PM »
I have a C3 index pulse card set up on a G540, I get the index pulse LED to light when I rotate the
spindle by hand, but if I turn it on the LED flashes very sporadically and when I try to read the spindle rpm I get nothing
Also tried a threading routine and when posting the gcode I get an error saying no spindle feedback when returning to the
program screen. I can try and take some screen shots and post pics when I get home. I am trying to turn a 24tpi internal
thread in 6061. I am just starting out trying to really understand mach turn now, I have used Mach3 mill for a
couple of years so I feel pretty confident with that.
I converted this lathe last year and am just now finding the time learn mach turn haha
Any tips or help would greatly be appreciated

PoKeys / Pokeys+2MPG's??
« on: July 26, 2011, 10:34:01 PM »
Is it possible to hookup 2 MPG's to one pokeys?
I would like to implement "electronic handwheels" on my cnc lathe project
I would like to just have 2 mpg's similar to the ones at cnc4pc.
Has anyone tried this?

General Mach Discussion / MACHTURN AXIS CALIBRATION AND MDI
« on: March 26, 2011, 06:05:33 PM »
 ??? ???
I have finally got movement on the axis of my lathe conversion but am having a hard time fine tuning the axis movements
in the Mill profile it had an axis calibration area where i could set up the steps/per but I cant seem to find it in the Turn profile
any suggestions??
Do I just switch back to te millt screenset and set the steps then switch back?
Also is there a MDI screen in Turn or is it just in the Mill profile?

General Mach Discussion / Machturn and G540 XML
« on: March 19, 2011, 03:15:42 PM »
Hello, to the almighty knowing ones
I am having a hard time getting my G540.xml working properly with Mach turn
I have used it on my mill and it works great, I love mach and am having alot of fun with my machine
I tried dropping the G540.xml into the mach folder and when I use Mach loader it just brings up the mill profile
I tried matching the ports and pins/inputs/outputs to the Machturn profile but I cant get it to come out of e-stop, even when it asks
to toggle the settings it still wont come out of e-stop
If I run the mill profile all motors jog just fine and e-stop works as well
So does anyone have a working G540.xml file that works with Machturn
Sorry if this is something very simple, I am just now pulling out the last remaining hairs I have (but at least the gray is gone lol)

PoKeys / Pokeys help
« on: December 29, 2010, 09:55:33 PM »
I just installed pokeys on a home built control panel for my CNC mill but am having some "issues"
It works great most of the time but when I shut the computer down "sleep mode" and start it back up only half of the digital inputs work, if I unplug the pokeys and plug it back in it works fine?
I'm confused as to what the issue might be, could it be noise, the plug-in?
