Mach Screens / No NFS Wizards available
« on: February 08, 2017, 02:34:56 PM »
I have a licensed  Mach 3. I have used mill for some time but now want to use the turn module. Have not had luck getting usable code from lazy cam so I wanted to see if I can use the NFS wizards to
create the code. I bought the licence for this but cannot use. My screen set does not have it as an option. The only wizards shown are the two for turn and thread by  Brian. When looking at the online tutorial, there are 7 different options including the NFS wizards. I re-downloaded Mach thinking I corrupted the other somehow but I get the same screen set. Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

General Mach Discussion / Rotary axis positioning problem
« on: April 27, 2015, 11:17:02 AM »
I have a rotary axis controlled via a 320 gecko DC drive. I can tune it to give within a half degree accuracy on 3600 degrees rotation ( Ten rotations ). I can repeat this several times in one direction. When I command it to travel the other direction it is off by about 40 degrees ? There is less than 1/4 degree backlash in the gearing. Any ideas on where the problem would be ?

Thanks,
Scott

General Mach Discussion / Mach 3 with Heidenhain Control
« on: January 09, 2014, 08:23:35 PM »
I have acquired a Bridgeport mill with a heidenhain control. I am wondering if there is a post proccessor for the code generated by mach and lazy cam to feed needed form of ISO code to control. It seems to have a lot of different g code meanings and a diff. way to define arcs than mach. I can just use a dnc program with a few macros to feed mach code into my allen bradley and it works great but not so with heidenhain. Any help appreciated.

FAQs / rapids are executed very slowly
« on: April 29, 2012, 09:00:38 PM »
I am having a problem with my G0 moves always running very slow. Whether the code is generated by lazy cam or input manually they always run real slow. If I edit the programs and change to G1 with a feed rate they work as they should. Is there a setting in configurations I am missing that is causing this ? Any help appreciated. Thanks

Third party software and hardware support forums. / USB MPG problem
« on: December 28, 2011, 10:09:41 AM »
Looking for help with China made Mach only pendant. Uses USB and Comm ports to connect. I believe I have followed the instructions to install the pendant. All functions work as they should with the exception being axis selection. I have to select the axis I want the MPG to  operated on Mach screen. Mach does not seem to recognize the select buttons on the pendant. Any ideas ? Thanks

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / subroutine only
« on: November 23, 2011, 10:42:31 PM »
I have figured out from sample programs how to write a subroutine within a program that runs, however I do get an error message (Return called no sub in effect - looping). I cannot find a sample of and have not  been able to figure out how to write a subroutine only and store in subroutine file for future call back. Hoping someone would be willing to give an example of how to do this. Thanks

LazyCam (Beta) / Image size
« on: June 16, 2011, 08:41:14 AM »
Can you explain the corelation of dxf to lazy cam to generated image size in mach ? I seem to have changed a setting such that everything I transfer to mach is now just a dot size and I have to really zoom to get it up to a visable size. Thanks

LazyCam (Beta) / z axis movement referance
« on: May 24, 2011, 04:29:45 PM »
Is there a step I am missing when generating code in lazy cam ? I can draw a shape in autocad and get a successful tool path for x an y generated in lazy cam, but what I don't understand is all the z movements in the generated program are without any negetive axis movement. My old allen bradley controller on my mill uses - for any movement toward the work. If I rewrite all the z movements I can run the part program, but know I shouldn't have to do this. What am I missing ? Thanks.

General Mach Discussion / Slaving a 4th axis.
« on: January 31, 2011, 11:03:35 AM »
I am missing somthing on setting up a slaved axis. I want to slave what my driver board calls axis C. I have tried to set it up identical to X axis ports and pins and check it as C slaved to X. This does not seem to work. I tried setting it up as A after reading other members allways refer to it as this. This did not work either. I restarted program after both of these tries. I know the axis has power to it because it locks up as it should when Mach reset is clicked. Thanks for any help.
