General Mach Discussion / Mach Turn - Toolpath display
« on: July 30, 2012, 02:16:46 PM »
How do I turn off the toolpath display in Turn?

I'm using the MachBlue screen, and I don't see any button to do so like in the 1024 mill.

Screen designer tips and tutorials / Modify Button Output
« on: July 29, 2012, 07:48:49 PM »
I would like to modify the softlimits button to activate an output when pressed, then deactivate it when pressed again.

I can get it to activate with a VB script of ActivateOutput(7)......but I can't shut it off.  This is pretty new to me, so I'm making very slow progress....lol.

I though maybe using a toggle type button would work, but it hasn't so far.

I wonder if I need a conditional script.....but don't know.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

I made some rack and pinion reduction drives for my new project.

6061 aluminum with 120/19 Gates GT2 3mm belts and pulleys.  Final ratio is 6.32, and after the 20 tooth rack gear I'll have about .50 IPT.

It's a Nema 23 setup. :)

General Mach Discussion / Kernel speed axis cumulative?
« on: January 13, 2011, 09:37:22 AM »
Is the kernel speed set in Mach available to each axis at all times, or does the number divide itself amongst the axis' in use during a simultaneous multi axis move?

General Mach Discussion / Step Morphing Question
« on: January 01, 2011, 10:42:39 AM »
I just bought some 203V drives fro my new router.  After reading about it's micro to full step morphing, I wondered if a higher top speed could be achieved without the need to raise the kernel speed.

I will be using 4032 steps per inch, and at a kernel speed of 45000.....I would top out at 669 IPM.  Would that increase using the 203v's ?

General Mach Discussion / G code pause for specified amount
« on: October 21, 2010, 10:27:47 AM »
I'm trying to debug and issue and would like to write program with a pause of a specified amount of time.

Is there a G code command to do this?

I'm familiar with M0, but I want something that will resume movement automatically at a specified time.

Any ideas?

General Mach Discussion / Losing Steps?
« on: September 16, 2010, 03:17:29 PM »
I have my small router up and running with a new computer.  My problem is that whenever I run something ( 5 minute program) and return the machine to zero, the gantry has moved about .003 " to the positive in x.  The larger the program, the more this shows up.  I intended the router to cut lithophanes, so you can see that a 6 hour program will probably add up to a great difference.  The odd thing is that it always moves towards positive x.

I have played with different setting, and the best scenario is Sherline1/2 pulse at 25,000 kernel speed with 1/32 microstepping.  Lowering the microstepping, raising the kernel speed, or using the standard pulse setting greatly exacerbates the problem (anywhere from 2-5 times the distance).  My machine is using Keling 4030 drivers and 36v supply with Keling 495oz Nema 23 steppers.  I guess it seems strange to me that it is never off the negative way.....it always misses steps in one direction?

I'm not using shielded wire for the steppers.

My look ahead lines are set at 200, and my feed rate is at 50 with a rapid of 250.  My drive ratio is 1.19 inches per turn and steps per inch are 5368....velocity is 250 with acceleration of 20.  Changing acceleration doesnt change a thing......I went way slower and way faster. My cv setting is 1.

Any Ideas?

General Mach Discussion / Machine pausing randomly
« on: September 11, 2010, 11:15:28 AM »
I just got my machine up and running today on Mach 3 demo.  Most of the time it seems to run fine, but periodically it will pause for a half second or so while running.  It never happens in the same spot, and I am definitely not near the acceleration or speed limits of my steppers to make them lose steps.  The program just pauses for a bit (along with the DRO's), then resumes.  No lost steps measured.

Any ideas?

General Mach Discussion / Cannot Download Mach3
« on: August 29, 2010, 09:36:36 AM »
I can't seem to download Mach 3 from the site.  It says there is a problem with the server and that I might try back later.  I have, and was able to download......but the exe would not run.  Said bad crc, or something like that, would not decompress the file.

Anybody have and ideas?
