General Mach Discussion / Disconnect Shuttle Pro - HOW?
« on: June 06, 2015, 09:11:27 AM »
I was using Shuttle pro on my Mach3.

Great, but it was not reliable.  I cleaned the insides a couple of times, and it worked for a while - but

ANYWAY - I bought a VistaCNC Mach3 pendant and installed the plugin.

I tries to disconnect the shuttle pro by clicking the green check mark to change it to a red X - but imediately get an error message and Mach3 shuts down.

How do I disable the shuttle pro?

General Mach Discussion / Super Simple Question
« on: March 13, 2011, 08:26:05 AM »
Mach3 is quite complex, and there is more to it than I will ever experience

I am more a used then a configurator.

Question 1):

How do I home out only ONE axis at a time.

Often times I want to send "Z" home but not XY

How do I do that?

Question 2)
I will have more questions regarding simple operation of Mach3 -- I cannot find this in the manual.

Is there a document that shows just simple step by step operation of Mach3?

Sorry for the overly simple questions.

General Mach Discussion / Setup Mach on Maxnc ???
« on: January 22, 2011, 09:25:05 AM »
I have Mach3 currently set up to run my Larken 2424 router.  Mike Tierini helped me set that up.  Well actually Mike set it up.

I have acquired a new little baby.  Maxnc 10

I have VERY little information about it, other than that it was never used from new.  It is in prestine condition.  When I plugged a cable in from my computer to the machine and turned it on the spindle turned on.

I tried running the Mach3 for my Larken - but the little baby did not respond.

So - for this GREEN guy and I do mean GREEN - can you guys help me to create a separate desktop icon for the baby, and help me to configure it to run.  I will agree to read stuff in the manual if you tell me what to read.

I do believe there is somewhere in this forum the pin configurations.  I can search that out.

I have an operators manual - but NOTHING like a circuit diagram, or schematic

In the end --- I would like to have my ONE computer set up - with TWO icons on the desktop - ONE for the Larken - and ONE for the baby -- I will have ONE parallel output going to an A/B switch then branch off to either machine.

Can you help???

General Mach Discussion / Can I convert to Mach 3
« on: July 19, 2010, 02:02:43 PM »
I have a Larken 2424 Camtool and it uses the Larken control box that came with the machine.
It has a 220v spindle with an AC Tech series mc spindle drive and a Perske 2hp spindle.

I use Vectric software to do gcode programming.

The axis control boards are in the Larken control box.

The control box is connected to a desktop computer via a parallel cable.

There is a small Larken CNC spooler program to operate the machine.

I don't care for the control software supplied by Larken to control the machine.

Can I some how convert this machine to run with Mach 3 software?

I am pretty good at mechanical stuff, but I am not great at software, electronics or computers.

With some help I could likely get through it.

Do I need dedicated circuit boards to control axis motion?

Is this reasonably "doable"?
