General Mach Discussion / Axis got off track somehow.
« on: January 15, 2012, 07:39:41 PM »
Hi, I was running a 3 axis toolpath and in the process the X axis got out of whack so that in the middle of the run the mill was suddenly cutting several inches to the right of where Mach said it should be. It had started out fine and everything going as it normaly does. Could someone help me find the possibilities that would cause the mill to do that?
Everything is clamped down tight. Mach showed nothing out of place. The mill still seems to have free motion in all directions and works fine with the joystick. But the X axis shows 3 or so inches off from where it acutally is. Simulation runs in RhinoCam and Mach both looked good.
Thanks for any suggestions,
puzzled,
Dwight

General Mach Discussion / hotkey for step/cont jog
« on: June 15, 2011, 08:28:08 PM »
Hi,
I am so happy with my Mach3. It is easy to learn and does everything I could ask. And the forum gurus are the best.  I would like to know if it is possible to have a hotkey to switch between continuous jog and step jog.
Thanks,
Dwight

General Mach Discussion / A axis not matching actual angle.
« on: March 17, 2011, 01:29:32 AM »
hi,
I am trying to set up to use a 4th axis. It turns but the DRO reads 4 or 5 or so when it has gone 360 degrees. I have the General Logic Config set for A axis to angular. What else am I missing?
Thanks,
Dwight.

General Mach Discussion / PPC file
« on: January 20, 2011, 12:43:23 AM »
Hi, I have an old Wolverine mill and I have located an old file with *.PPC extension. I have a feeling it has all of the machines setup information. Does anyone know what program will open it?
Thanks so much.

General Mach Discussion / Help with ideas how to get Mach3 working?
« on: June 29, 2010, 10:42:51 PM »
Hi,
I have a new (to me) 10 year old Wolverine II mill; 36v, 3A, 1/4 step, SS drivers that came with a computer running Master5. I would like to upgrade to Mach3 and have a computer that meets the specifications for Mach3, WinXP. The demo is installed and for practice runs it seems to work fine. I went through the setup instructions to the point where it says to connect the cable to the parallel port. But I get no response from the mill. I know the mill works because it works with the old computer and Master 5. I feel like there is a setting I have missed somewhere. Does anybody have ideas for me?
Thanks so much, looking forward to getting to know some folks here.
Dwight
