General Mach Discussion / conventional vs. climb
« on: April 06, 2010, 03:49:56 PM »
I am using the thread wizard on mach3 and, I not sure which to use. I am making internal threads. It is easier for me to make threads from bottom to top. Should I use climb to thread? Or should I thread from the with conventional from the top down, even though the external treads I will threading onto it will be coming in from the top down?

I need to make thread and I only have one thread mill. Can I use this thread mill with mach3's wizard on thread milling?

Any suggestions on what to use for thread milling. I have not done any before. I don't have a lathe. The mill I do have specs:

FAQs / Limit to # of lines
« on: April 05, 2010, 01:29:05 AM »
Hello I have code that is 10K plus lines. Mach3 only loads about 4800 at a time. I have to change g-code when it arrives at the 4800th line. (erase all the previous lines and reload the code.

This is horrible.
Please help.

Two questions.
1. How do I change the way the exported g-code is numbered? For example if I want to change the current way ( N1-9999 )... to (N1-*********XX), five digits instead of four.
2. When I upload the code onto mach3 it only sees the first N1-4790 lines of code. MOST of my codes require more than 10,000 lines of code. Therfore I need to be able to upload atleast that much.
