what would cause the z axis to not respond properly. sometimes it stays up and other times it goes down. thinking it is not getting the steps correct.

FAQs / not sure what happened

havent ran the mill for awhile so i needed to do a simple job and the machine moves half of what the dro says it moves. plus and error came up with safe Z turned off, ignoring safe z moves. not sure what changed. maybe one of you guys can point me in the right direction. thanks  tom

thought i'd post my first job on this new router i got. its 32 in. long and 7.5 in. tall oak. 1/4 in ball for the rough cut and 1/8 in. ball for the finish cut.

i have had mach in my computer for a taig mill for two years and it accepts fanuc language and the v3m from vector art. this new mach i just got with a router system doesn't like fanuc or the oter. my question is is how to get the two pc's on the same page?

this might be a crazy ? but im am getting a cnc router but i do have cncmill, manual mill ect. and it is the x movement that is the longest of travel for the mills but the y is the longest for the router. can this be switch as to when you draw on cad you dont get confused or am i missing something.

i hope someone can help. just got a new 20 in. flat screen for my pc. its a hp windows xp. now when i open up my bobcad and just put a circle in the drawing frame it looks like an egg. how can i fix this? thanks

i know i saw this question in here but cant find it. i zero x,y,z ,turn off the computer for the nite and when i turn it back on the next day the z is 0 but the x and y are are not. is there a fix for this to make the x,y,z all 0 again on start-up. thanks

when i purchased my mill it had a liciensed older version on it. everything is working good on it and if i upgrade the version am i opening up a can of worms? just dont want to loose anything.

please excuse my stupidity but when i try to view a dxf file it tells me windows photo viewer does not support this ext. bla bla bla. looked in my programs and i dont even have it. duh. what is a good avenue to take to be able to get this done. thanks

when i load a g-code to mach i get plain box in window and no code. hit the edit and it comes up all garbled.. when i just open the file i see the code.im missing something simple. just cant put my finger on it.
