General Mach Discussion / Mach3 on another computer

Hi,

Yesterday, my old computer was broken while I was using my CNC. Then I installed mach3 on another laptop with a parallel port. I moved the mach3mill.xml file to the new installed mach3 folder. But now I'm not able to use my CNC. The steppers doesn't move. They don't give any reaction.

I realised that when I load and start a G-code or drive the motors manually, the X Y Z location adresses on the screen doesn't change. Mach3 starts timing the elapsed time but it seems Mach3 doesn't work.

Addditionally, I moved the Mach3 folder from the old computers hard drive (without installation). Mach3 worked but still the same problem.

Now I don't now where to look at to solve the problem  

P.S:
I checked the parallel port root adres,
Checked the motor pins&ports,
Checked the cables,

anythings seems ok.

General Mach Discussion / Making a laser cutter

Hi there,

I have built a cnc with about 60*60 dimensions. I'm using a dremel hand tool instead of a spindle motor to work less noisy but it still works too noisy for an apartment. I thought that maybe I could use a laser so I could use my cnc anytime I want. But I don't know much about lasers. I'm generally cutting 5-8 mm plexyglass, or making pcbs. What kind of laser that I need to use? And is it possible to make pcb with laser? If yes, is it possible to make it with the same laser that I can cut plexy? And also what kind of troubles I might see while the prosses of changing my machine to a laser cutter?

General Mach Discussion / Speed and noise problem

Hi there,

I have made a 3 axis cnc machine (60x60x30) with 3 stepper motors. Firt everythnig was ok. At the first tryings the speed was very good. But after making motor tuning the machie starts to perform really really slow and noisy. When using manuel not bad (but again too slow), but when working with g codes the motors sound like screaming and they move too slow like nearly shacking. I couldn't solve the problem.

my motor tuning setup is "step:113.3786847, velocity:703.8, acceleration:254.6775" and the feed rate is normal.i tried different values but didn't worth much.

Could you please hepl me to solve the problem?
