General Mach Discussion / Motors not responding
« on: July 30, 2010, 10:56:04 PM »
We had an issue with the x-axis binding when moving towards the positive. After turning off the controler, unmounting the motor and testing the motor and the drive screw (with no iisssuuess found) we re-attached the motor and it bound when traveling in the positive direction only. We concluded that the coupling between the motor and the drive screw was the problem, and shut off the controler then adjusted the coupling. Since that time, none of the motor seem to be working. We have revisited the setup tutorials and also used parmon to see that there is a signal to the serial port...

We are running MAch3 with RockCliff Controler and Motors and an E-stop

General Mach Discussion / Lost one of my Y Motors
« on: July 27, 2010, 06:19:40 PM »
One of my couplings on one of my  Y motors came loose.  After fixing the coupling I manuallyy turned my acme shaft to align the gantry.  After I realized that I had not unplugged the wires I quickly unplugged them.   After finishing the adjustment I then plugged the motors back in.  At that time only one motor runs.  I cannot find out what is causing the other motor not to operate.  I am new at this and haven't been running my machine very long.  I am using a Rockcliff 4 motor system and prewired controls and Artsoft/Mach 3 to run.  Any ideas for me to look for?  Thank you
