General Mach Discussion / Deref All Axis On Reset Condition
« on: November 09, 2017, 09:18:47 PM »
I have one last thing I'm trying to get setup on my machine. I want it do deref all axis when ever there is a reset condition. I thought that there was a check box on one of the config pages but I can't seem to find it. I'm using the latest version of Mach3.

I have done some google and forum searching but have not found the info that I need.

If there is not a checkbox I can select is there another way that I can get it do to this?

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Feed Hold G83
« on: December 14, 2012, 02:02:51 AM »
Well here is another feed hold issue I seem to be having. This one is more of an annoyance. I'm not able to feed hold in the middle of a G83. Once Mach gets in the canned cycled it just continues until its done or I hit stop. Feed hold does nothing. I don't really care for working like this since some times I need to clear chips that have gotten waded up on the drill.

Didn't find any post here or in the yahoo group that had an answer to this. I would really like to be able to feed hold in the middle of a peck cycle.

My system
Mach3 (.66) lock-down version
ESS with latest lock-down plugin (10hd2)
PMDX-126
PMDX-107

Is this something that I'm just going to have to live with or is there a fix for this?

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Feed Hold in arcs
« on: December 14, 2012, 01:57:33 AM »
Hello,

I just recently got my mill some what up and running. I'm in the process of running some parts to test how everything is work. I have run in to a problem with feed holding while in an arc move. If I feed hold in an arc move and try to cycle start to continue the cut the cutter ends up moves in random directions. Mostly it seems to takes off in the + Z and -Y and -X directions. I thought that this may only be related to doing a helix move but it also does it on a basic 2D profile arc.

When this happens I get and "Radius to end of arc differs from radius to start" error. From what I have read this error seems to happen the most if you Mach and your cam software are not post arcs the same way. INC vc ABS. I have checked and have both systems setup as INC I also have my code output a G91.1.

This is with the latest lock-down (.66) version of Mach3. My system consist of ESS using the latest lock-down plugin (10hd2), PMDX-126, PMDX-107. This system is on my knee mill.

I have spent some time browsing the forums and the yahoo group and have seen some post about this problem but none of them have a solution and they are quite old.

What I find some what odd is I also have Mach on my router and I can feed hold and continue any time I want on it with no problems. On difference is the router is a PP system and not and ESS system.

Any suggests other then trying to run my knee mill as a PP system with out the ESS?

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Hardware Spindle Start/Stop Buttons
« on: November 27, 2012, 10:11:50 PM »
Hello,

I have hardware buttons setup through a pokeys 56U. I have one that is for Start spindle CW and another setup as stop. I have done some searching but have not found how I can have individual buttons for those functions. Right now both buttons toggle the spindle on and off. I don't like having a toggle on/off via one button on my machine. My hardware start switch has a flapper over it so you can't accidentally turn the spindle on.

Am I going to need to write a brain that determines which state the spindle is in before it decides to either start the spindle if it is not running or do nothing if it is running. Also we need  to the same for the stop button.

Or is are there some separate spindle commands that I couldn't find. I looked through all the options in the pokeys plugin and didn't see anything that look relevant.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Possible to add a delay to Mach's reset?
« on: November 20, 2012, 11:38:03 PM »
Hello, I have finally cut some metal on my 1980 Hurco KMB1 mill. I still have a few loose ends to clean and at a point that I need a couple pointers.

Here is what I have for a system.
Ethernet SS
PMDX-126
PMDX-107
DG2S-16035 (servo drives)

I need to some how add a delay to axis movement when I hit reset. Here is what happens.

I hit reset in Mach3, the PMDX-126 actives the drives reset line for 2 secs, the drive takes 2-3 seconds to run through its reset cycle before it will move the motors. The issue is I can hit reset and hit jog and Mach thinks it moving even though the drives have not finished resetting yet.

I would like add around a 5 second delay on reset in Mach so that I can't jog the machine until the drives reset.

I have looked at my drives and they don't have a ready to run line. They do have an error line which I have connected to the PMDX-126 and it works. But the error line doesn't show when the drive is done resetting and ready to run it only shows when the drive has faulted.

Is this something I could do with a brain?

Any ideas? I have done some searching here and on the net and have not seen anything that looks related.

PoKeys / Mach3 not responding to button presses
« on: November 20, 2012, 01:13:51 AM »
I have pokeys working for the most part. One issue I'm having is my spindle lower RPM is not working. Spindle raise RPM works just fine.

I can lower the spindle rpm by pressing the "-" key on the number pad or pressing the lower spindle icon on the screen.

I have verified that the button I'm using is working by looking at the pokeys configuration digital screen.

I even tried changing the plugin so that my spindle raise rpm button was going to lower the rpm instead and that didn't work either. Either i'm missing something or there is a bug in the latest plugin.

Button 164 and Button 163 are the two that I have assigned to my two buttons in the pokeys plugin config, but only one works.

Any ideas?

PoKeys / New Pokeys plugin, analog signal mapped too?
« on: November 11, 2012, 03:14:40 AM »
Hello,
I have a pot setup for my FRO.  I had a brain working that would increment my FRO by 10% depending on what the analog signal was. I was reading the analog signal through MODBUS. With the latest plugin this is not working any more. Did the analog signal get mapped some were else?

If so were can I read that signal for my brain to work.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / VFD spindle control, Analog or Modbus
« on: October 13, 2012, 02:11:18 PM »
I was wondering which method would be better to control my VFD for my mill. I have a Teco 7300 CV.

I'm looking at using either analog 10V, modbus RS232 or RS485. I currently have the RS232 cable and if modbus is a better way to control it is RS232 or RS485 better? I can pick up the RS485 cable for around $20.

My analog signal if that is a better route would be coming from a Kflop/Kanalog board.

PoKeys / New Pokeys plugin MPG setup help.
« on: September 13, 2012, 11:19:01 PM »
Hello, I'm in the process of doing a retrofit on an old Hurco KMB1 mill. I'm having trouble getting any response in mach3 with my MPG. Below are pictures of the various config screens that are related.

I'm using the latest versions of Mach3 (R3.043.062) and Pokeys firmware (3.0.36). Using the pokeys configuration software and looking at raw encoder data I can see the position and the rate change when I rotate the MPG. But when I try and calibrate it in Mach3 it doesn't show any changes. I'm sure I must be missing a step some were. Just haven't found a step by step how-to for the new plugin. In image 3 you can see the the DRO has been set on something. That was just me trying to get it working and I have tried it with "none" selected with the same result.

With the old plugin I had just gotten the MPG work and the life got in the way and the project was on hold for a couple months. Since I was not at a point of having a usable machine with I left off I reload all software and drives with the latest versions.

Thanks for the help in advance.
