General Mach Discussion / mach 3 requirements...
« on: May 07, 2016, 10:40:27 AM »
Have an old PC running mach 3 for my cnc router.  Every now and then having issues booting it up.  So was looking to replace it, but wanted to see if newer versions of mach 3 are now better with newer pc support.  I know previously it was no 64 bit windows, and loads of issues with pci parallel ports vs on board ports.  Just wondering if all that remains the same as years ago.

Mach Screens / all the stuff needed on the screen??
« on: September 27, 2010, 09:05:19 PM »
I am using the Aqua screenset... which I modified to clear it up and get rid of some unused things.

But I was considering doing a new one based on it, and clearing up more stuff.

Just curious if a general screen set designed for the hobbyist who has a home brew CNC machine with a router thus no spindle speed or misting and or tool infol that would be of interest to anyone but me.   Not sure what all else is important to others.   I know for all the buttons/functions,   I use load gcode, edit gcode, run, pause, stop, rewind, run from, auto z zero, adjust and reset feed speed... but not much else.

Any input would be great.

Per request, here are some shots of lithos I have made recently.    Still working on how to best photograph them properly and constantly...

General Mach Discussion / Strange doubling issue cutting lithophanes...
« on: August 20, 2010, 10:36:17 AM »
I have been cutting lithophanes on my machine, and until recently all has been going well.

Now I am getting a doubling along the edges.   Using artcam to generate the code, reviewing the
toolpath in mach it looks ok, but doesn't come out ok.

Oddly I cut a smaller one (about 2.5" x 2") and it appears to not have the issue, which kinda confuses what
it might be in my mind...

Using a Gecko 540 as controller, and the room has been very hot at times recently, I thought that might be part
of the problem, but ran one while it was cool, and got the same issue.  Running a raster along the X (which is the
longer side of the image)..

You can see the doubling along the edges of the flower petals in the attached image.Any ideas?

Machscreen Screen Designer / OEM Codes...
« on: November 03, 2009, 10:56:55 AM »
If I make a button and use say, OEM Zero X, then go back and look at the button,  it shows up as user defined, though the code # is correct.  But the button doesn't work.  But if I use the STD zero X, with the depreciated code, it works fine.

Is this a known problem?
