General Mach Discussion / Problem with re-config of Mach3
« on: January 08, 2021, 11:47:23 AM »
I got Mach3 a few yrs ago and it worked fine till computer crashed (something on mother board went bad.). I let system sit for a yearr or so. Just picked up an older XP machine and loaded Mach onto it. Everything seems to function properly in simulation mode. I'm using the same HobbyCNC control box and other equipment. When I turn on the power to the Control box, the steppers lock up as normal. However, Mach does not appear to be sending any signals to the controller or steppers. Tried direct commands, jogging, nothing. I'm thinking it is in the configuration, but it's been a long time since I fiddled with that. Any thoughts or ideas to isolate and correct the problem would be appreciated! Thanks!

Mach Screens / Moving the BackgroundJog.jpg
« on: March 19, 2014, 10:47:25 PM »
I've looked around, but can't find any info- or a way- to put the BACKGROUNDJOG Pendant on the Left side of the Mach3 screen. I'd like to not cover the toolpath screen with it. As always, any assistance is greatly welcomed!

Machscreen Screen Designer / The right ""Function" for a button!
« on: March 13, 2014, 04:13:36 PM »
Might someone please tell me what Function Code, F-Code number, etc., goes in the MachScreen Properties Box, sub-panel - BUTTON, when setting up a Button to load a Bitmap (picture)?

I want to bring up the bitmap "G-Code_US.bmp" from the Mach3\Bitmaps\MillBitmaps\ path to show an informational picture of all the G-Codes and their assigned tasks.

I set up a button with the text "G-Code" on it (I will do the same for the M-Codes later). Tried the Function, "Execute Basic-Script" with F-code 34. That automatically enters LoadFile( and the correct path to the file) to the Execute Code parameter.I then saved the screen, loaded it to Mach3, and when the G-Code button is pushed- Nothing!! Says in the Status block, "Scripter Compile Error. In:" I don't see any other "Function" that appears would work. Soooooo, HELP!

Thanks!

Mach Screens / G-CODE Button Problem
« on: March 12, 2014, 03:08:54 PM »
I placed a Button on screen. Then I entered the text for it, "G-CODES". Next I clicked on the FUNCTION box in the MachScreen Properties Dialog box and selected "Execute Basic-Script" (this was the only Function listed in either OEM or Standard) that appeared even close to what I wanted to do). When I selected this Function, the Standard Code  box changed to 34. Also, LOADFILE (C:\Mach3\MillBitmaps\G-code_US.bmp) appeared in the Execute code box.

I want this button to open the file on screen that shows the list of G-Code numbers and their functions. (I plan on a similar button for M-Codes). When I save the Screen and load it into Mach3, when pushed, the button does nothing! The file called is spelled correctly and in the path listed in the Execute Code box. I have no idea why this will not work! Anybody got an idea???

Machscreen Screen Designer / Tool DRO problem
« on: March 09, 2014, 07:48:36 PM »
I'm relatively new to MachScreen. So, here's my question: I placed a "Tool#" DRO & a "Tool Dia" DRO on my screen and followed up with the "Function Code" for  both. Now, does the "function" read the G-ode and list the tool number & diameter in the DROs, or does something else happen? DRO remains 0.0000. I ran a program listing T1 as the tool (with tool # & Dia.) and the Tool# & Tool Dia DRO's remains 0.000. If I try to enter a number in the Tool# DRO, it returns to 0.0000. The DRO for TOOL DIA excepts the number entered. This is making me CRAZY!!   >:(

General Mach Discussion / Sizing seems to be a problem!!
« on: August 02, 2010, 06:26:52 PM »
I have MACH3 (demo) version 3.042.029 installed with a HobbyCNC Pro board hooked to a Sherline 2000 CNC Mill. I also have LazyCam Pro V3.00.2. Here's the problem. I downloaded the LazyCam tutorial drawing (LCRO_HCIR.dxf) used in tutorial #1. After EXACTLY following the tutorial, I posted the G-code to MACH. It appears to run fine - except in minature! The entire machined piece is only about an inch long! This happened before with another drawing. I was meticulous in setting up MACH3 and LazyCam, but obviously I missed something ???. The are both set for "inches" . Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
