General Mach Discussion / Axes DRO Values Change But Machine Axes Do Not.

Help needed please.

I changed from a Dell Optiplex 380 - which had just stopped working - to the HP Elite 8100 and have not been able to get my supplied profile or any other profiles to move the axes with Mach3.

I used the Dell successfully last in 08.2018 with the supplied profile and replaced it in 08.2019.

The attached KT2514 xml file is the modified copy of the original xml file kt2514-Ibrahim-.20

By setting the kernel to 25 KHz and making adjustments to the motor tuning, I got movement in the Z-axis today but none in the Y- and Y axes with KT2514. Shortly thereafter, movement in the Z-axis too ceased.

No doubt I am missing some obvious facts: the axes' DRO readings change but the actual machine axes do not.

All guidance is appreciated.Kindly help me check my settings to determine what I am doing wrong please.

General Mach Discussion / Backrouting Wood On A CNC ROUTER

I am trying to 2.5 d cut the image on the right of the attachment.

In some areas near the middle of the shape, the direction of cut is counterclockwise . My router rotates clockwise and - from my hand-held router use experience - that has always meant pushing in a left-to-right /CW direction. As shown in the image on the left.

Is it therefore safe to also cut from a right-to-left / CCW direction in a cnc router or is it wiser to adjust my VBA code to always arrange points to allow cutting only from left-to-right / CW only?

Cost is a considerable object, so I coded my own post-processing in Excel VBA.

Please help!

Newfangled Mill Wizard / Cannot Upgrade To "Licensed Copy": Issues With PC ID and License File.

I have just paid for a MillWizard license and received these instructions:

     To properly load PC ID licensed products:

     Save it to some location on the PC that you registered (the Desktop is a good choice)
     Open the Mill Wizard or Mach4(if using Win 7 or Win 8, right-click on the shortcut icon and choose "Run As Administrator" from the menu)
     Click on Help > About in the menu bar
     Click the "Load License File" button on the About screen
     Browse to the license file and Open it
     Close and re-open the About screen to check that the license is properly loaded - it should say "Licensed Copy" above the box with the PC ID.[/li][/list]

After following these steps, I still have an unlicensed Demo version with a PC ID different from the PC ID I supplied.

My PC ID is my Full Computer Name. Right?

Please help!

General Mach Discussion / DriverTest Does Not Execute In Windows XP 32 Bit.

A few years back, I purchased the KT-2514 and a Mach3 cd came with it. I was able to use Mach3 successfully for a few months thereafter.

After a few years' break, last month I installed Mach 3 from the cd on another PC running Windows XP 32-bit. I rebooted as required and all prompts were positive.

Unfortunately, DriverTest did not run and - of course - my router did not respond to prompts.

What can I do please?

Greetings.

I am looking for information about writing GCode to cut mathematical curves in wood.

For example, code to cut a sin curve.

If I can see an example, I am sure I can take it from there.

Help appreciated.
