General Mach Discussion / Mach not responding
« on: January 19, 2017, 03:48:08 PM »
Good day all,
My keypad for Mach has quit working.
I tried setting up a Shuttle Pro for Mach. Never did get it working correctly, but during the process, I went back to Mach and discovered the Eithernet-smoothstepper had quit working also.  I uninstalled the the Shuttle program, and tried again. I finally got the Smooth-Stepper working.
The PC will run a program now, but the Mach screen can not be controlled by the keypad. I tried reloading Mach thinking I may have deleted something I should not have, but no change. Your assistance in getting it fixed would be much appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / spindle RPM issues
« on: March 03, 2016, 09:51:52 AM »
Good day friends,
I replaced my spindle with a 4.0kw spindle.
Let me see if I can explain it.
 for some reason, my indicated rpm's on the inverter and mach are not correct.
The spindle has a top speed of 18000 rpm's @ F300.
In mach, when you reach 8000 rpm's, Inverter also says 8000 rpm's but Spindle is running wide open, and will not go any faster. Like it has a range is set for 0-8v instead of 0-10v.
If I check it with a meter, the board is putting out 6 volts, the spindle is running at full speed. It will ramp down when voltage is lowered, but indicated rpm's cant be correct.
In the inverter manual, PD070 for analog input , #1 is for 0-10v that is where I have it set.
It really has me puzzled. Baud rate is set for 9600.
My settings on the inverter are:
PD001 =1  0-10v
PD002=1  Controlled by external board
PD003=300 max frequency for 18000 RPM
PD004=300 Max frequency
PD005=300 Max frequency
PD070=1 analog input
PD072=300  Max frequency
any assistance will be appreciated.
I've contacted manufacturer, but have not heard back yet.

General Mach Discussion / Auto Zero Touch off issues
« on: February 19, 2016, 03:05:14 PM »
Hi all.
I have started having issues with my auto zero.
When I click on auto tool zero, the tool moves down as it should, but when it touches the touch off plate it does not always respond. The Digitize LED comes on every time in the diagnostics screen, but the spindle keeps going down. Most of the time it works correctly, other times it is ignored.
I tried reloading the edit script again, but makes no difference.
Any thoughts on what may be going on.

Thanks,

Toad

General Mach Discussion / spindle variable speed control board relay
« on: July 10, 2014, 11:07:37 AM »
I am using the EES and PMDX-122 BOB, C6 Spindle Variable spindle control..
When I start a program, M3 closes the relay on the C6 Variable speed control board and Starts the spindle, the program runs. , When it is time for a tool change, M6 tells relay to open and stop spindle for the tool change.
The problem is, that when M6 tool change occurs, or M9 at end of program occur, the relay on the BOB stays energized, and spindle only slows down to 860 RPM’s
What is keeping the relay energized?
Thanks,

Hi All;
I have an ESS Smoothstepper, and it works great, I have one issue, and that issue is that when it stops for a tool change, or if I hit the stop button, the spindle stops , but not completely.
it continues to turn approx. 100 rpm's until I hit the stop button again.
what am I not setting correctly? I can not find it.
Thanks,

SmoothStepper USB / spindle & Smoothstepper question
« on: November 11, 2010, 06:13:48 PM »
Good day all;
I have a warp9 smoothstepper installed on my router and is working fine, I am in the process of replacing the router with a Chinese water cooled spindle with an inverter, and with cnc4pc c6 speed control board. I am having problems getting the 10 volts at the board output. Is there anything in the smoothstepper that needs to be cinfigured.
I have the ports and pins configured, and spindle motor active and configured for step/dir, but no 10VDC.

Your help is allways appreciated

General Mach Discussion / Mach updates
« on: November 11, 2010, 05:17:11 PM »
Good day all;

If my file gets corrupted in some way, can I download the latest version and not loose the settings and license, or do I have to start all over. The reason I am asking is that I am trying to get a water cooled spindle to run, and I can not, just thought something may be wrong with the program, everything looks like it is set up correctly, but I do not get the 10VDC at the cnc4pc c6 speed control board.
thanks in advance,

General Mach Discussion / Mach-3 stops
« on: October 07, 2009, 12:21:21 PM »
Hi all;

when I am running a program, or if it is sitting idle, mach-3 e-stop will need resetting.  I have it running through the boardon for mach-3 to controol.

Has anyone else ran into this, and how do I fix it.  Also, my limit switched do the same thing. If I look at the setup screen everything is clear.

I click on the reset tab, and restart. very anoying.

I also set up my homing in the config. Homing limits, and "Y" and "Z" go th zero machine coordinates , but "X" does nothing.  Am I setting it up incorrectly?

Any and all help  would be appreciated.
