General Mach Discussion / spindle DRO readout in six figures
« on: June 30, 2019, 05:26:32 AM »
have used mach 3 turn for a number of years
after computer crash due to a power surge
have renewed the computer
and the drivers etc
cannot get the spindle index to work on turn eventually have a read out but at 30rpm to 750rpm it is in six figures and does not return to zero when the spindle stops
have no indexing on the mill which works well.
the OS is windows7
all the electronics are from Cnc4you
the index pick up is hall effect switch with one magnet which has been perfect for threading in the past
the wiring to the inputs has been checked
the spindle is switched on and green light in the diagnostics is ok
driver test is excellent
have put in various xml files from previous back ups
the mach3 version  R3.043.062 but have tried older versions as well
now at wits end after about 3 months trying to get a result
would really appreciate some help

General Mach Discussion / No rpm display on mach3 turn
« on: August 12, 2017, 05:38:52 PM »
Hi
Have been running mach3 on 3 machines for 6 years with no problems
We had a bad power surge during a storm that took out 2 of our computers and damaged one of the breakout boards,
Have renewed the computers which now have windows 7 32bit instead of XP
Have now renewed the breakout boards and drivers  on the lathe,
Everything is working fine the home switches, estop , and coolant pump
But no index display
in diagnostics screen the green index is flashing slowly,
I am using a hall effect switch with magnet on the spindle on test the switch is going from 5volt to .23 volt on the magnet pass
This has always worked well
I have also renewed the switch and cables to the bob
At our wits end at the moment
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated
Could it possibly be windows 7?
On driver test mach 3 says all ok

lines are read and returns to beginning
