heres a pointer to a post i made a few days ago in which i included a zip file of the write wizard with the grad symbol changed to a apsotrophe
its what my family and friends always asked for

LazyCam (Beta) / Troubles with text

hi all, just downloaded the latest build... i'm playing with text in lazy cam pro ( licensed ) and i noticed that if i start it up and drag text , it is sized like 63000 by 45000 on extents. ( roughly)
and if i then select a tool,  it seems to lock up

however , if i load a dxf that i made up because there isn't any way to tell what size the letters are, then i drag some text, there is no problem. it would be nice if there was some sort of ruler for scale, i guess we can load in a dxf ruller of length and width if nessary.
what does everyone else do

VB and the development of wizards / changing write wizard, maybe

hi all, i would like to change the write wizard by german bravo slightly..
 i want to change the small circle thing to a apostraphe ' .
 i have changed the VB attached to all the buttons on the wizard, but i can't find where his post code is.
it should dump to the teach file, but i cant find it.any ideas ?

General Mach Discussion / new mach3 2.56[1] problem maybe

im running the new 2.56.1 on the machine in the house, not at the shop, to look at it,
and noticed, at least on this machine,
 that when  i hit ref all home on the program run window i get a error code, " error on line 5 - sub or function not defined:G1X0Y0Z0"
 but when i do it on the mdi window, i get 3 homed axis
scratching head.

is there any way to have tabs short of manualy editing the gcode ?
i tried creating a dxf with 2 layers and the second layer is interupted for tabs, but when i clean up the image in lazycam the extra layer goes away. even if i have duplicated lines off.
i have lazycam pro, and its great, but i could seee being able to copy a chain and drop it down for tabs being very usefull

  went to the plugins lazycam is $75 instead of $50 for the pro....
guess i'll wait for something else, just wanted pocketing features

General Mach Discussion / troublshooting from the results

hi all,
i went and cut my first multi pass project today on my homebuilt and had a odd result.
i have a movable table y axis and a stationary gantry x axis..
anyways i noticed the piece, when cut out, had perfect up and down edges on the sides, but on the side for the y axis
one side was stepped out, maybe 1/32 every cut, and the opposite was undercut approx the same distance.. the mach 3 software worked great (except i couldnt figure out how to use tool offset in lazycam)
could this be a example of slop ? backlash ? it semed too even to be random step loss. btw this is with allthread and 60 in torq motors running at 5 ipm..
this is a tweak as you go project,and i'm already getting bigger motors.

General Mach Discussion / mach 3 rev2,057 troubles

hi all,
just tried to update to rev 2.057 from 1.84.... after it got done couldnt turn spindle on or off, or jog motors, looked at diagnostics, no lights blinkin on the pins when i tripped limits... so i uninstalled mach3 and reinstalled rev 2.057... still no signals..
then i reinstalled 1.84 , and everything works..
machine is a homebuilt with a emachine running xp.. not great, but fun to learn on.
i just dont understand why the rev 2.057 mach 3 doesnt work.
