General Mach Discussion / Chinese BOB output 3 wire to MRJ2S' input!
« on: December 12, 2020, 11:49:04 PM »
Hi,
    I came across this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRAKprcp_Gw
Looks like a chinese breakout board:

open attachment

output Step/Dir and common (3 wire) to the input of MRJ2S CN1A, how is this done?
A while ago I had to use a couple of SSD in between the BOB and MRJ2S but this video make it look so simple, I know also by adding a 4.7K resistor between port 2 of the BOB then to MRJ2S CN1A would work too, can anyone explain the wiring in the video?

Thanks,

General Mach Discussion / BVB25L Headstock upgrade advise.
« on: May 06, 2020, 01:13:00 AM »
Hi all, Long time!
I'm thinking of upgrading my BVB25L lathe headstock to something like this:

Here's my lathe:

There are gears inside the headstock, would it be easier if I re-build the headstock?, please advise.

General Mach Discussion / PMDX122 + CSD205-H stepper driver!
« on: January 18, 2019, 08:46:02 AM »
Hi all,
It has been a while since my last visit, how are you all?
Ok, I’m facing some difficulty making the stepper motor turn using PMDX122, here are some pics of the PMDX, stepper driver and Mach3 screenshot:

Can someone please point out if the jumper settings on Pmdx122 are correct?

Hello all,
I have created a break out board schematics it is finished and I would like to add a relay for coolant/flood to pin 17, so when coolant is activated the relay clicks, is the illustration below correct?

General Mach Discussion / Workshop + Automation
« on: February 19, 2017, 01:25:21 PM »
Hi all,
I'm planning a new project ahead and would like some feed back from this forum. There's a possibility of converting our garage (5 by 8 meters) in to an automated workshop where it will produce small volume of parts and have those parts delivered to customer. Has anyone in this forum converted their garage to a semi or full automated metal workshop?

General Mach Discussion / Kress FME-1050-1 + Inverter?
« on: January 04, 2017, 02:53:26 PM »
Hi,
I google searched on Kress FME-1050 speed control via Inverter and the closest link is:
http://www.8020cnc.com/improved%20cnc%20spindle%20speed%20controller
I know cnc4pc used to sell a AC speed controller but is not there anymore.
I'm thinking of modifying the"Electronic Speed Controller for Kress 1050 FME Spindle Motors" : http://cnc-plus.de/en/Spindle-Motors---Spare-Parts/Spare-Parts/Electronic-Speed-Controller-for-Kress-1050-FME-Spindle-Motors-.html,
but need more info on how this "Electronic Speed Controller for Kress 1050 FME Spindle Motors" works, my idea is to use analog 0-10V to speed control the Kress spindle. The 0-10v comes from a Wago Analog module and this is fed to a Inverter which turn the motor to a speed depending on voltage output. Most of the Inverter are either 1 or 3 phase input and 3 phase output, could not find a 1 phase output 220vac.
Does anyone know if there's any Inverter that output 220VAC single pahse?

Thanks,

General Mach Discussion / Pen plotter, rc servo up and down?
« on: May 11, 2015, 10:54:57 PM »
Hi all,
Got an new project coming, building a pen plotter.
I want to use a RC servo (RC servo used in radio control planes) for Zaxis up and down, how do I connect the RC servo to the breakout board (c10)?
Breakout board Z axis output:  Pulse, DIR, Common
RC servo                             : PWM, +3.3, GND
Do I need a interface between the BOB and the RCservo?

thanks,

General Mach Discussion / MB Asrock AM1B-ITX + C10
« on: November 13, 2014, 11:32:11 PM »
Hi,
I'm replacing my cnc lathe MB to Asrock AM1B-ITX, this board has a LPT port on board but I'm having problem getting this port to talk to C10. Previous MB had no problem is just a little bit old.
I checked the Bios settings in AM1B-ITX, Pararellel port is enabled, Device mode = Normal ( other 3 options = Bi-directional, ECP and EPP 1.9 mode, ECP and EPP 1.7 mode). Reload pc, enter Mach3 jog xyz result = no movement. DC servo are energized/locked.

Anyone experienced this before, and how did you overcome this problem?

thanks,

Hi,
I'm encountering some problem with my cnc coverted lathe after replacing the C11G to C10 + C6. The CW, CCw, and spindle start worked fine, but when executing the program generated from Visual Turn the tool tips moves away from the stock and start the cut, not sure why is it doing that?. The offset is exactly the same distance of the cut.

need help.
