General Mach Discussion / Motor Max Speed problem
« on: February 09, 2011, 03:11:35 PM »
So, i have a very weird problem. I can't figure out how to look for this on the forums, though i looked around best i could. Thought someone might have some ideas.

So, If i jog at a high speed, like 500ipm, this is what happens.

on the speed readout in mach:
From 0-250 ish, the motors accelerate
from 250-500 ish, the motors decelrate.

If i run at 400 ipm, it actually moves as a low speed.

I am sure i am losing steps. I get the idea that the kernel speed might be a factor, but i really don't know. Honestly, i cant even spell kernel :)

Has anyone seen this kind of thing before? Maybe i don't know to determine the max speed. , I honestly dont know. Would love to get back.

Thanks,

General Mach Discussion / "Hey, can you cut the Router and Fan on?"
« on: March 13, 2009, 09:49:12 AM »
I heard a while back that i am supposed to be able to do this. Thought i might take the time and ask, get it wired up, and get going. I dread coming back up to the shop over the weekend after running a long job (12 hours sometimes more), just to turn the router and suction off.

I have the cnc4pc c11. I looked in the wiring diagram, and the manual, but i am a neophyte and it does not compute. Any help?

Thanks
Kenneth

General Mach Discussion / Is CV my Friend?
« on: March 12, 2009, 11:11:04 PM »
I'm still having trouble with Mach 3 and the CV settings.

I am trying to carve very detailed woodworking, but the CV keeps rounding allot of the details out. If i run a cetain design s 100 IPM it comes out rounded all over the place, but if i get it at 50 IPM it comes out "sharp edged.

I tried putting the unit distance setting from 180 to 50 or less , but didnt see and significant change.

I read a help text on the CV and it says that the unnit distance setting, ...... yea, what are those units?

Anyone with ideas on how to get mach to give me high detail at a higher speed? I know its gonna slow down on the detailed stuff, bt maybe it going faster on the "straitaways????"
