General Mach Discussion / How to change an image into Mach 3 language
« on: December 14, 2015, 09:45:54 AM »
I have been asked to make a brand for a logo.  How do I change an image into a language that Mach 3 will accept?

This will be done on a vertical mill.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Coordinate Shift When Thread Milling

Thread Milling Problems

When I attempt to run an old threading program (Mach 3 Wizards) my y-axis shifts about 4 inches.  When I returned to the center (eyeball) of the 6 mm shaft both the machine coordinates center, and the dro centers are off by approximately 4 inches.
I also lose the ability to jog, unless the shift key is used.
If I reload the program, using the machine coordinates I can return to the center of the shaft.

I have generated a new g code using Mach 3 Wizards with the same effect.

If I run an old circle g code, everything seems to work normally.

Any ideas as to what's going on?

General Mach Discussion / Parallel Port Adaptor "T"
« on: March 14, 2010, 08:07:06 PM »

I have a situation which I think would benefit from a parallel port adaptor “T” plug.
I would like to access different pins in the printer cable for use with other hardware without going to the breakout board on the machine. I have thought about using an A/B switch and jumping the switch on the pins I need from the added hardware printer cable to the printer cable from the breakout board. A “T” plug adaptor at the PP at the computer would make it easier.
Is there such a plug available?

I want to run this code 50 times and increment it in the Y axis in 0.100 increments.  How do I accomplish this?
Thanks

Will someone provide the G code for a convex surface with a radius of 0.65 inches in the Z plane for a length of 4 inches in the X plane? At one time I used G68 with the canned arc program in the Mach 3, but it seems I no longer figure out how to do that.
Thanks
