I have an 8 amp 80v stepper driver, can I run to 4amp step motors on the same axes? or do I need two drivers

General Mach Discussion / step motor runs rough in one direction only

Installed new step driver on old motor and tryed tune and calibrateing.  when I run motor one direction motor runs smooth, but when run in other direction motor runs rough and looses steps.
changed wires  for direction still runs rough in one direction only.
changed motor but still does it.
changed driver motor work good in both direction

I assume this is a driver problem or am I missing something?
I need advise.

General Mach Discussion / plasma on off

Hello:
new member here.  I am looking for some help on setting up Mach3 for plasma cutting.  I have X&Y axle working and tuned, but I am having problems with
turning plasma on and off and delay for piercing. Is there a manual or pictures of setting that I can get info from? I assume it is something simple.
I also have phc coming, any info on setting this would also be greatly appreciated.
