I have an older pc videogame controller I would like to set up to jog the router around with. I down loaded Arts Joystick addon and took it out to the shop computer and droped it in to the mach folder in the c drive but now what???
I looked in the plugins and addons on the top of the mach screen to see if it was there but didn't find it........

What do I need to do to configure or set this up? Not looking for a bunch of bells and whisles for the controller just would like to be able to jog it around for now!!

Thanks,
Nick

General Mach Discussion / Faster movement for 3d routing???
« on: August 29, 2009, 05:35:49 PM »
Hello all,
Is there a way or settings beyond the acceleration slides to make 3d cutting faster? I have messed with those settings with some improvement but I have seen some videos of routers moving way faster than mine on 3d wood and foam carving and would like to try to attain that type of speed.
Any help for a rummy would be great! ;D

Thanks,
Nick

General Mach Discussion / Restarting after cutter breakage
« on: July 22, 2009, 08:45:06 AM »
Hope some one can help!

I am cutting a 3d wood figure on my router and just before it was done the tool path went back to a place near the beginning of the cut to finish something. I had install a small clamping block to keep the part from floating and the ballnose hit it and broke. :( I hit the stop button on mach and now I am wondering the best way to restart??? Do i need to reverse the run and set a line to restart from? How do I go about this with out running the whole cut again? It is a very large tool path and took about 7 hrs to get where I am now :(

Thanks for looking, any help would be great,
Nick

Is any one useing the rapid changer from Hightechsystems? They have a vid for using it as an ATC and I was wondering how it works and how you set up mach to handle a tool change like that.

General Mach Discussion / Steps per unit and XML question????
« on: February 11, 2009, 11:43:05 AM »
Yesterday I calibrated my router on all axis and used what mach suggested for the steps per unit and it cut everything great. The power went out briefly and my shop computer shut off. I then cut some more parts and then realized this AM that the parts were small and then I checked in mach and the steps per box went back to what was in the XML file the manufacturer sent me.  :o

How do I get the steps to stay after I calibrate the router??? I'm sure it's simple.................

Thanks,
Nick

General Mach Discussion / Too fast for pully????
« on: October 09, 2008, 02:24:35 PM »
Hello I am new to this forum and am hoping to learn more about Mach3 on my CNC.

When I cut parts I keep getting a Too Fast for pulley on the status bar down at the bottom of the main screen.

Can anyone tell me why this keeps coming up? Maybe something simple??????

Thanks for your help, And yes I am very new to this.
