I am working on some marcos for a CNC lathe using PLCs for controling the spindle and tool changer.  I have found the Wike lists of commands and VB language.  I have not found a list of Mach commands such as "GetModOutput, CurrentTool, GetInput, etc" I only know of their existence from looking through Macros on this forum.  Can someone tell me where I can find a list of these commands.  Thanks.

General Mach Discussion / Lathe Tool Changer
« on: January 23, 2010, 08:17:04 PM »
I am converting an Anilam lathe to Mach3.  The lathe has a six position tool changer made by Baruffaldi.  The tool changer is driven by an old Mitsubishi PLC and integrated into the Anilam control.  I would like to up date the PLC to a DirectPLC DO-6.  The changer uses a 3 phase motor, encoder, lock, and position sensor to move it into position.  Has anyone integrated this type of changer into Mach?  Any advice or assistance would be appreciated.  Thanks.

General Mach Discussion / Safe Z
« on: September 19, 2009, 07:30:13 AM »
I have been trying to use the Alt Z keyboard command to go to safe Z and not had any luck.  I have checked the use safe Z box, and told Mach to use Machine coordinates but z axis doesn't move.  What other setup step have I missed?  Thanks

General Mach Discussion / General machining question
« on: August 22, 2009, 09:38:01 AM »
When I cut a pocket on my mill I usually use a center cutting 4 flute mill.  At the bottom of the cut normal a small dish forms on the end of the cutter, because the ends of the flutes are tappered inward.  This is usually not an issue except when the same tool is used on the next operation and the disk sticks to the end of the mill.  The next plunge cut can stall until the disk is cut through, some times this can cause a problem.  Besides stopping the mill and knocking the disk off between cuts does anybody have any suggestion as to how they handle this problem.
Thanks,
George

General Mach Discussion / Motor Configuration
« on: August 18, 2009, 09:47:07 AM »
On the Motor Tuning Dialog box there are selections for "step pulse" and "dir pulse".  How are these used to setup the motors?  Do they cause mising steps if not properly set?  The examples show 0 in each box; is this a recommended starting point?  Thanks.
