General Mach Discussion / weird marks on port test
« on: March 21, 2011, 11:47:53 AM »
Hi I just uploaded mach 3 and lazy cam on my computer.
and when I did the port test the pulse was normal until I was half way through the test.
Then the pulse jumped up untill the tops were one line below the 64 they were even and It was holding steady at 25000 per sec. they were not just one or two pulses they were steady all the way across the screen.
That is the first time I ever saw that usually they just give a few pulses that when up one point.
This machine is a pentium 4 with a dual core processor. 2.5 gig speed. Does the duo core processor do somthing weird or is this okay.
the message said test okay. The reason for the duo core processor is I will be using this machine to do all my design work  twice as fast as the old machine or so they tell me. please let me know befor I load everything on this machine in case I have to take it back.

General Mach Discussion / need help conveting hpgl files to work on mach
« on: February 13, 2011, 10:27:29 PM »
Hi. I am looking at using a vynl cutting knive on my 5x10 foot cnc router. I have the set up to do pen plotting and cutting of vynl and card stock. I dont plan on getting a vynl cutter . The program that I use to do most of my cutting is aspire. but I need the offsets for getting good corners and the overcut for weeding it is .025 mm. the offset and overcut is because the cutter follows at this distance.  the program that I am trying is signgo  it is found at signgo.com out of england I think. Is there  a way to get a post processor to convert there file into gcode for mach3. that is the program that I have been using sence it came out and I dont want to go to another driver. I just need a vynl cutting program that will go with mach. If we cant convert this program to the right code does anyone know of a program to cut vynl that will work. I dont want to reinvent the wheel just cut some vynl with my machine. it is step and direction.steppers.run by mach..They do there output with HPGL . most  hpgo to g code converters dont accept signgo hpglfiles or any that I could find.  There is a universal plotter driver that a man from hollad got g code set up to work  but he had trouble with the offsets not working. Could someone out there please help me I know ther are some real smart people on the mach forum. and am hoping. also if this is the wrong spot on the forum moe it where it will get the most veiws . Thank you.

General Mach Discussion / how to hook up a e stop
« on: December 01, 2009, 09:05:04 PM »
Hi this is larry . I have hardly ever asked a Question before . The program is so easy to use as soon as you get it going . But I need to ask one question now. I have whent over some of your post but there is so many of them. I need to know how to hook up my estop so that when I push it it will tell  mach to stop the g code. I now have it hooked to my  cnc interface board. I think it is a 10 cnc for cnc board. Any way all it does is stop the board from runing. What I need to know is there a way to signal the computer. I have had to stop the machine a few times and then run over to the key board and tell it to stop. Then go set the machine and spend the next 2 hours reseting the mahine then the computer. That is if I am lucky. I would really apreciate your help thanks
