« on: October 06, 2009, 04:07:01 PM »
Hello,  I am really new to this prgram.  All my G code has a default 60 z axis for rapid moves.  How do I change this- Also I am using the THC300 plasma torch heigth control and and there skin removed the tab hot button to give me the ability to move all axis manualy.  How can I get this back ( I know that is MACH 3 but thought someone might know how)

LazyCam (Beta) / how to make tool path for 3-D dxf file
« on: August 09, 2009, 12:16:38 AM »
Hello,  I would like to know how to set up lazy cam to make a toolpath that will cut out the font included which has depth info as part of the font.  I would like to also know how to make a tool for a v cut bit, the diameter of course chnages with depth.  If you can help please let me know.  The DXF file attached has the outside lines that show the final shape, they are deleted prior to making the toolpath.  Thanks Oskie

General Mach Discussion / my DRO' s don't go to zero
« on: July 09, 2008, 10:33:37 PM »
When I home my xy coordinates don't go to zero, I have the green check mark for auto zero checked in the homing tab.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

Hello,  I am curretnly using DESKNC and everything is working fine.  The file I have attached is no problem for that software.  I was wanting to try to go to Mach 3 because of the flexible setup, but am having difficulty with the items I cut out.  Lazycam seems to want to cut the arc into pieces instead of recognizing it as a single curve.  I used proile flab to generate the dxf and all the lead-ins.  Thanks Oskie

I am not sure what settings I could have wrong, but the servo's aren't aren't moving smoothly when cutting arc's( Kinda makes a chuging sound).  Is there a setting that smooths things out?

General Mach Discussion / Homing all axis Help!!
« on: June 10, 2008, 10:45:14 PM »
I am sure this has been covered in the past, but I couldn't find anyone having the problems I am having.  I have the three switches wired in series and when I go to the diagnostics page the led lights are lit without the switches being reached so the machine tells me the homing is active and I need to fix the problem once I reset the estop button,  I unchecked the active low in the pin tab and this fixed that problem, butwhen the axis hits the limit switch it doesn't reverse it's movement, it continues trying to drive the axis ( I have broke 2 switches already).  I started testing without the power to the servos( helps with breaking parts) and I notice that when I depress the homing switch it continues to drive and when I release the switch it then moves to the next axis.  Any suggestion on what I have set wrong.
Thanks

I have a customer that is running plasmacam and would like to buy one of my cnc tables, he would like to simply convert all his legacy files over to Tap files.  I have been trying to learn mach3 to see if I want to change from Deskcnc and also would like to know where to change the rapid movement distance for the z axis, it is set at 60 in default( not sure why).  If any of you are able to help in any way that would be very helpful.
Thanks
