General Mach Discussion / Tool head direction
« on: July 09, 2012, 06:51:40 AM »
I haven't had a need to do this, but is there any reason for a spindle to run in reverse..apart from threading a hole.  I ask because I have a controller that will allow me to reverse the spindle..any advice would be great.  Anyone that can give me advice on weather or not to disable this function....I can program it to not allow reserve spindle speed, but looking for advice before I do it. Its very hard to change the disable function after I impliment it.

General Mach Discussion / Jog not working.
« on: July 05, 2012, 10:28:42 PM »
Hi guys, I am having problems getting jog to open its window up. I have tried the (Ctrl>alt J) shortcut and it doesn't want to open. I have tried to press the button itself and still nothing.  Is it possible if some in admin could mail me a patch so I can get jog function to work again. I have already tried reinstalling MACH3 a couple of times and it hasn't fixed the problem for me.

General Mach Discussion / windows 7
« on: June 13, 2012, 10:56:53 AM »
Hi guys, I haven't been around lately because I has been overseas for a couple of years now.  I have just recently instilled Window 7 on my desktop and I seem to be having problems with my Mach3 Pro board.  First of all I reinstalled Mach3 and the jog function doesn't work now. I can't find the documented information on the board anymore due to a lot of things changing while I was away. I am using 130 style stepper motors and trying to get my old CNC started again. My controller is a rev 1 unipolar stepper motor unit. I will keep looking around for my manual but I believe its been thrown out at some stage. I have forgotten settings and program setup. For some reason, I am not sure of my speakers on my desktop aren't working anymore.

Overview needed:
Direction pinouts and step pinouts
Manuals
updated software to run Win7 operating system (including Updated info)

General Mach Discussion / Protect codes
« on: December 12, 2008, 01:04:38 AM »
Hi lads, I'm currently looking into making very simply cnc outfit to sharpen knifes.  At the moment I'm looking at startup costs, customer market interest, size of a customer base, etc.  Now to my question.  If I wanted to leave behind the codes for every persons knifes on CD.  Can I save the G codes as Protected, or better than that Not readable?  I was thinking about writting a macro that needs to be in the code of it to run, but not leave that macro on the disk.  I'm just not sure what would be a more effective approach.

Hi forks,  First of all I'd like to say that I love Mach3.  The software is so easy to look at.  I do however I find that after running Mach3 (licenced user) that Mach3-Lazycam can be destroyed by Rhinoceros 4.0. I'll try to explain :(

Frist, I create a new design in Labcenter (Proteus 7.3) Saved as DXF file.  I open the DXF in Lazycam..blah,blah,blah..next after all the tool paths are set, I load the Gcode to Mach3.....Sweet, everything works.  If I look at the pathname and the icon created Rhinoceros 4.0 smacked a rhino icon on it.  Now if I regen the gcode Mach3 doesn't understand that the file was created in Lazycam.  I tried to save the file to a new Drive and exported it to Lazycam and the Gcode created in Lazycam, but still Rhinoceros smacked it icon on it.  Secondly, I have found that after running Mach3 my Menu bars doesn't appear (Noted that there are the shortcuts for menubars..grr)  I also found out that my "Start Teach" appears, but "End Teach" doesn't.  Also btw most, if not all the useful drop down sub menus didn't work. Is anyone out there running the same software, or maybe a developer could explain why this is so?

LazyCam (Beta) / DXF file in Lazycam changes on Mach3 Load
« on: May 31, 2008, 06:19:47 AM »
Hi guys,  This problem has got me pulling my teeth out.  First of all I have a licenced version of Mach3.  I'm trying and when I say trying.....hmm I'd have some words to say about that as well, but anyway.  I'll show you two sceenshots, one is the outline of my simply little test and the other is...well not really what I expected, or thought that I had loaded to Mach3.

These sceenshots are from LazyCam 3.  I know there arn't any docs covering LazyCam, but really do I need in MD to work it out!

Hi guys,  I want to use this DXF file and convert it to G code, but I'm not having any successful results with it.  I have attached two files a DXF.file and paint.file.  I using Proteus 7.2 to make my layout design and tring to use Mach2 to generate a g code so that I can use my HobbyCNC controller.  I haven't had any problem with using Rhinoceros 4.0 with Mach2, just this DXF file doesn't work properly.  I don't know what I should do next, I would be so grateful if someone here could try this DXF.file out and see if the G code generates the same image as the other file attached.

Edit: I have attached also the text files that Proteus has made, just incase that helps somehow.
