General Mach Discussion / Mach3 Keyboard / Mouse requirements
« on: December 09, 2023, 07:27:44 PM »
I'm running Mach3 / ESS and share two computers
with one KMM. Once a program is started will / can
Mach3 continue to run if I switch to the other computer.
Space is limited and don't want / need two mice / keyboards.
Just asking.
Thanks for any help!

General Mach Discussion / How to add a Stop Command to Initialization
« on: October 12, 2018, 11:29:00 AM »
My version of M3 will not do certain functions
if a STOP is not hit upon startup. Known bug.

How can I add a STOP to the initialization string
in the general config?

Thanks for any help!!

General Mach Discussion / Need Stop before running script
« on: April 17, 2018, 08:22:43 PM »
I have a my probe homing script working and the only
thing I need to finish is;
For some reason the homing script will not
run until I hit stop, then reset.
I have noticed that on the MDI screen that I
can not enter a move until a stop, reset is
done also.
Am I missing something or just need to include
it in my program???
Thanks for any help!

General Mach Discussion / 2 Axis Dispaly w Encoders
« on: August 30, 2017, 06:03:25 PM »
I want to be able to identify various places on my mill
table for different projects. I don't want to connect in
any way.
I also do not want linear scales. I have dual shaft steppers
and I want to mount encoders on the x and y axis so I can
move the table to a exact location, then go about my machining.
Ebay has 2 and three axis digital readouts, but I"m not sure which
encoders would be the right ones. I have contacted one of the
suppliers but have not heard back from them.

Have any of you done this?
Care to share particulars.

General Mach Discussion / Gcode buffering?
« on: February 20, 2016, 11:23:05 AM »
We are running mach3 ESS with designated version and updates.
Some times when we run a file (in air) we need to make a tweak.
We will hit feed hold, stop, rewind and have the program take us to
0,0,0.
Then when we reload the program, or a different one the mill
will make a strange move as if there is some code left???
Any thoughts how to clear out any code?
It does not do it every time.
ESS or Mach problem.
Thanks for any help!

General Mach Discussion / Dual Monitors
« on: December 31, 2015, 06:39:34 PM »
Is there any way to have two monitors when running Mach3.
One that displays the tool path only, and one that displays
the regular program run screen??
Just a hair brain idea.
Thanks for any help!!

General Mach Discussion / Gecko Company
« on: April 09, 2015, 07:45:29 PM »
We had a fire in our shop 1 1/2 years ago. I'm just getting around
to rebuilding my cnc mill. I had Gecko 201 drives on it and really
liked how it ran. Not fast but it just got the job done.
I knew that drives were probably shot but I thought what the
heck, I'll just send them in, just in case. Well to day I received
a invoice from Gecko.
All drives checked ok, cleaned up and returned NO CHARGE.

What a great Company!!!
