General Mach Discussion / Linear Scale on close Loop
« on: May 06, 2008, 01:04:08 PM »
I Installed 2 linear scales on my CNC ROUTER, but I have a question:

1- The Linear Scale works on close loop with MACH3?, feeding the MACH3 and making the movements more accurated. Or the Linear Scale is just for show the position.

General Mach Discussion / Moving off Limit switch
« on: May 06, 2008, 12:53:17 PM »
I put 4 limit switch (X++, X--, Y++ and Y--) on my CNC router, but for example: If X++ is triggered the RESET button starts to blink and I can't move to X- for moving off the limit switch?
I read the past posts and someone told to turn on the Limit override, but this is not good because when LIMIT OVERRIDE is on the X axis move + and - destroying the limit switch. ( If X++ limit switch is trigger the X axis cannot move to X++)

Is there a way to move off the limit switch without turn on the LIMIT OVERRIDE? ???

General Mach Discussion / How to config a linear scale?
« on: April 17, 2008, 02:38:12 PM »
How to config a linear scale ? I know the pins on parallel port (A pin9 , B pin10, R pin11) but I dont know where I should put these pins numbers to make the scale works.
I tried to config on Config -> Port and pins -> Encoders/MPG's (A-Port # and B-Port #), but nothing happened.

General Mach Discussion / Using linear glass encoder
« on: April 04, 2008, 02:16:34 PM »
I'm buying an linear glass encoder to use with X and Y axis (5um , A and B TTL signals). Someone knows if Mach3 can read the linear encoder outputs with I use an feedrate value of 500 units/min (mm/min)?

I'm afraid of that using feedrate values such high like 700mm/min, the linear glass encoder output frequency (A and B) too high, that parallel port can't read these signals.
