« on: April 06, 2010, 11:10:58 AM »
Me again...sometimes when I import a DXF r12 I get to change the rulers to the correct diameter of stock but my profile diameter is way too big and it has a minimum that is larger than my set stock diameter?

I have been all thru the manual but still cant figure it out?

General Mach Discussion / Limit switch engages when I start my router?
« on: April 14, 2008, 10:43:04 PM »
I can run a program with my Vari speed Bosch router off with no problem but as soon as I turn it on the reset button blinks and says a limit switch has triggered but when I look at the diagnostic page no switch shows it has been triggered.
I cam then hit the reset button and cut to my liking but occasionally it will kick back into safety mode but there is no indication as to what is causing this?
Is it stray RF off the router motor?
When I first built my machine it did this like crazy then I used sheilded cable for the limit switches and it got 90% better but I still have this annoying seemingly random occurance...EXCEPT when I turn my router on which is not random at all it will kick out to safety every time it is powered up ...what gives?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

LazyCam (Beta) / offset problem solution?
« on: March 16, 2008, 09:45:43 PM »
Hello all, My first post.
I am new-ish to CNC
I use Corel Draw, Lazyam PRO and MACH3
I have had a terrible time importing DXF files and creating offsets.
It is never the same twice sometimes no offset is created...sometimes an outside is created when an inside is requested.
Sometimes it does both an inside and an out when I request an inside.
Also odd chain/entity combos.
I change my extents and that helps but is not dependable.
Today I downloaded a free cad program called CADSTD on a whim to possibly isolate the problems
After I create my drawing in Corel Draw I export it as a .DXF I then open that saved file with the free CADSTD program I make no changes except directly export the drawing as .DXF again but from CADSTD during the export you are asked a couple of questions like convert wysiwyg style.
I then open the .dxf from CADSTD with Lazycam and have no problems at all. EVERYTHING works with out hassle.
Maybe you guys know what I'm doing wrong from Corel to start with but the "extra" .DXF save seems to do the trick!
