LazyCam (Beta) / Possible Lazy Cam Bug
« on: March 21, 2008, 05:23:36 PM »
I am new to CNC, Mach3 and LCAM. With lots of help from this forum I have things going. I am cutting signs to learn how everthing works. I laid out a sign in Coreldraw X4. exported it in a DFX file ( autocad 14 format, Corel skips autocad 12 for some reason). Loaded it into Lcam. The wording in the sign is " Robert Cowert" but in L-Cam  both "e" are missing the "-" so it looks closer to " Robcrt Cowcrt". They are not  "C"  the tails are almost touching so they are "e" without the horizontal bars.  What am I doing wrong? If you open the DFX file with Corel, everthing is fine.  Is this a bug in L-Cam or am i doing somthing wrong. I am attching both the DFX and Lcam files. Maybe one of you old hands can enlighten me.

Thanks in  advance.
Mike

I am VERY new to CNC mills, Mach3 R3.036,Lazycam R3.00.2 AND CorelDraw X4. I use each of these. I hope someone can direct me on what I am not doing quite right.
I have everthing going. I am using sign projects in wood  to learn with. Here is my problem.

I lay out a  project  sized as X= 5.5" Y=10.0" with CorelDraw X4. The lettering and image to cut is centerd in this XY area so that i have an equal distance from all edges.  I save the progect as a DFX  file. I open it into lazycam and optimise the file, get the starting point set on X=0 Y=0. If I check the size it is imported asX=5.069" and Y=8.728". It seems that for whatever reason Lazycam only imported the  actual cutting image X Ymaximum refrenced to X=0 Y=0. it seems to have disregarded the actual laid out size of the overall project. If you cut the project with Mach 3 and the engraver tip refrenced to X=0 and Y=0, the project is cut left and bottom. It's not centered as I laid it out in Coreldraw.  Can one of you old hands  lead me into the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

General Mach Discussion / Mach 3 limit switch overide
« on: March 07, 2008, 02:35:53 PM »
I am new to CNC mills and Mach 3 software.  So please bear with me. I have Mach 3 Version R3.036. I can not find the limit switch overide. I am having issues with limit swtichs triggering  impoperly. Addtionaly my home switches wont work 100%. When homing sometimes an axis will not back up after hitting home. I tryed  Mach 2- limit and home worked flawlessly so I am sure there is nothing wrong with the hardware. In Mach 2 there was a limit overide soft - switch but i cannot find it anywhere in Mach 3.
Can anyone give me a hand and direct me to it ?

PS : I did just find and will try the  input debouncing on the " General Logic Configuration" page. Anyone have a sugested settings ?

Thank you for your assistance.
