HI everyone,

I am in the process of surfacing my table on my 3DRouters.com 4x8 gantry CNC machine. I went into the Rectangular pocket wizard and gave it the dimensions of the travel limits and to mill down to a depth of .01" (delta of high and low points on the table).

My question is this: It mills along just fine from the inside-out but on two corners it seems to "get ahead of itself" and runs a diagonal from say, the long travel from the X axis to the Y travel when approaching the corners. This only happens on two corners and they are opposite of each other.

It is almost like it doesn't complete the run down the X axis before it wants to run up the Y axis (as an example). Here is a crude ascii art of what I'm talking about:

 /------------------------------------------------------------------|

-------------------------------------------------------------------/

(Where the "/" are the corners being missed).

I wonder if there is something in setup (ramping?) that is set to fast?

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated

Brian,

I know your soliciting suggestions so let me throw this one out there:

On the existing wizards that use drilling (Rectangular Hole Pattern and Holes Around A Circle come to mind) how difficult would it be to specify Circular Pockets instead of a straight drilling operation?

This would allow the same wizards to be used with bits that are too small to drill the hole by themselves.

Thanks,
Pegasus

Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / Wizard Update Notifications?
« on: July 09, 2006, 12:40:52 PM »
Question for Brian:

As you make changes to the Newfangled Wizards, do you have a method in place of notifying the licensed users of updates? Your work on this product is fantastic and really helps us guys (girls?) go from concept-to-completion in a minimal amount of time. Just being able to stay out of a CAD program is worth it to me!

Thanks again,
Pegasus

Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / Multiple Circular Pockets?
« on: July 08, 2006, 07:16:03 PM »
I have a question. I have many circular pockets that I need to mill (about 400 in all).

My problem is that I can only “post code” one pocket at a time, mill it and then go back to the wizard and do it again. Is there a way to APPEND the POSTED code so that it doesn’t create a new program every single time?

I would love to be able to enter the coordinates, POST CODE, then enter another position, POST CODE and so on until they are done.

Will this wizard allow it (Mach 2) or am I missing something?
