Recently purchased the New Taig 5019-CR-ER ball screw mill. My email program is an older OE and some files that were sent would not open. Would like to know the port & pins setting, etc and the motor output settings, input & output settings, that you have found satisfactory using the Mach 3 controller.  Any an all information, suggestions would be appreciated. Using XP3 with parallel port .... The Micro mill 2000 HD/LE controller...... inch settings needed for mach 3 .... 4 axes. Hope this helps!  Thank you very much! PM

« on: January 25, 2017, 01:50:03 PM »
Dear Friends,

I purchased a mach 3 license from Microproto system a few years ago. Decided to download the latest version of the mach 3 from your site as suggested by Microproto. Was downloaded an installed on desktop. However it comes up as a Mach 3 CNC Demo.

How do get/have have the current download as a licensed mach 3?? Thank you very much for your patience & understanding to help resolve this matter. License was Purchased Microproto and is licensed?????  PM

Have a CNC Sherline Mill w/ 8760 controller and planning to use Mach 3, since I
already have the license that came with my Taig. Is there anybody that can assist
me as to what Ports & Pin Settings are require and what they are using with their
Sherline? Such as, motor output - input & output signals, etc. to configure it
properly. Your assistance would be appreciated! Thank you for sharing. PS

You seem to be using a non standard screenset that when I googled it said it was a Taig screenset. If you have that then possibly you will have a Taig xml on that machine which will have all the correct setting?
If you look on the diagnostics page is there a frequency and a Time in Int showing[

Was unable to locate a Taig xml file. All indications so far have concluded that the problem is in the configuration of the mach3 to the taig controller I'm using. I'm the last one to realize that. Apparently I'm not the only one with questions??

However, I've been able to discern what settings an information available does not work. Fortunately I was able to come across an older listing of somebody that had a Taig Microproto and was running the Taig MPS Controller with Mach3 on a DOS. Something like that?? And had posted the mach3 setting they were using. It appears to be working satisfactorily for NOW what I wanted to do, for now. I'll see what happens when I shut down & restart the system to see if all the settings have been saved.

From this day forward I will have a lot to do to test & tweet the system. Where and how to enter G-codes, etc. For now that is a bit of an update. Small step but I'm rather happy about how the configurations worked out.

A special thank you to the mach3 forum moderators, sponsors, and members that responded. For now, I need a nap. There will surely be more questions later. Kindest regards. PS

Didn't get much of a chance to check all the suggestions out yet. That would be terrific if they have a taig xml with all the correct setting. You're right there is a frequency that is set at 25000. That I know for sure. Not sure what the inch & steps per should be but will check all the leads out more tomorrow when I should have more but not enough time. Thanks again. PSi

Pete,
You don't have the motors configured in the xml posted.

What motors do you have and how do you have them wired?

RICH

These are all (4) 200 oz stepper motors. Not sure concerning the wiring as the system is a Taig MicroMill CNC that was assembled complete when I received it. How should they be wired and is there some way I can check this out?

I won't be back until afternoon so this may be my last posting for awhile. Thank you! PS

What would be the procedure or information needed to attach the xml? You have to deal with senior newby that is trying to configure my Taig CNC 4 axis to manually run the motors & axis. Kindest regards - PS
