General Mach Discussion / Re: Problem

That's what I was thinking and the only reason I got away with it for so long was it was on a slow computer originally. Well anyhow it is working now so all is well.

It's a real simple machine, a single axis driller. Here's the little screen I came up with-

OK That didn't pan out. I ended up in "sherline half pulse mode" and it started working. I realize this has nothing to do with the software but any input? It had been working for months on a slower computer without that feature enabled.

OK Thanks for the tips, no I'm not using a breakout board but a second port I think I'll try. I've looked up and down and unless someone here has buddies at Biostar in Taiwan I'll have to measure the voltage!

Can you elaborate?

Upgraded the "computer" to a biostar motherboard and AMD 64 about 2.4g.

G0 moves the axis, G1 won't move at all....no errors (I'm not using feedback of any kind, 1 axis driller). Readout moves, axis won't.

I put it on another computer and it works fine. I'm sure the configs are identical. Has anyone had problems with certain hardware acting goofy?

General Mach Discussion / Re: External reset button

OEM codes worked perfectly (of course)  ;D

At least I can cycle the thing and get it set up mechanically now. After I get it going then it's Macro Pump time. Whatever that is..........

Thanks again!

Great thanks, I'm at home right now and will try the OEM code first thing Monday morning.

You wouldn't happen to know the one for cycle start too?  ;D

Anyway I'll read up on the macro pump thing this weekend so I won't seem like such an idiot then I'll catch on better.

Thanks for your help- I'll post a picture of my micro hole driller when I'm done with it.

I also found a place with really cheap IO cards that I made work with Mach3, I'm talking less than 20 bucks for 4 relays. If anyone is interested I'll post a link.

I feel dumb, the drive works and the homing and limits work and everything seems smoothe till I tried to make an external reset. I was going to use an oem trigger but evidently I don't know the oem code.

I need an output also when in e-stop mode, haven't even tried it yet. Any suggestions? I did a search and didn't find anything.

Thank you very much for a speedy response, it worked great. Now off to make a dull boring single axis screen control-  :o

Mach Screens / Screen 4 problems

First of all I want to say thank you to all the developers, Mach3 works flawlessly for our "little" project we are doing (one axis stepping motor) and I am considering an upgrade to our anilam crusader using a Mach3 system. Very logically written and the vid tuts are incredible.

I can't get screen4 to do much, most of the functions I get a popup with a yellow emergency looking icon and I have to dump it with ctrl-alt-del.

I'm on a hopped up athalon system with Win2kPro. I'm going to try it on XP when I get home... does the OS make a difference?
