so have any of you seen that TV commercial where the car parks itself? Looks like the internal video screen that has a positioning control where you can resize the spot you are trying to fit into.

Does this vid set up do the same thing? So for instance, if you have your raw material on your table can you position using a camera of some sort? even do an overlay of the part you are trying to make and see it on the computer monitor?

Not sure if this is what the video camera is doing or not?

Thanks

My name is Dan, I live in Austin TX, and I have an X3 cnc'd with gecko 203Vs and running mach 3 of course :). Have had a small aftermarket parts business for a few years now but I am starting to move into the direction of cnc made stuff instead of manual labor.

Currently in the process of adding a 4th axis to my mill that will be stepper controlled as well as run from the motor for turning operations. From there I will add in the joystick, and hoping to add in some video equipment as well.

I am new to Mach as I ran turbo cnc on my last mill, so I am interested in learning a ton on the forum..

Thanks!
Dan

so Art,

Is the idea with this to be able to only probe? Or is there any ideas to have it so you can completely position the mill as well? Dont get me wrong I think this is awesome...I was just curious on the latter though.

Thanks
Dan
