Hi, if it were me, I would actually install some sort of sacrificial top on the top of that, such as mdf, or abs or hdpe plastic.

Trying to face that aluminum table with the lack of rigidity setup you have is obviously not getting you anywhere.

What an absolutely wonderful lathe you have there. Love everything about it, and please, please, please, can you do a video of it running parts for us?

Something like that is a dream for me at this point......

Thanks so much for taking the time to share it, it's just awesome-

Oh, ok, I understand now, thanks for that-

So just so I understand, you are increasing the amount of contact between the inside of the collet and the arbor by doing the -1 deg. angle, is that right?

Thanks for taking the time post this-

Hi, guys, I know the thread got a bit tangled, but for those who see the subject line might be interested in seeing this site: http://www.project1a.com/cnc.html

I have no affiliation with it, so I don't want to hear that it doesn't work or that it screwed up your system  ;D

Hope that it helps-

Hi Wayne,

If you have your table setup correctly, you should see the boundaries of the table when you toggle the button circled in lime green in the picture below.

You may have to hit "regen" after you toggle the button for it to show properly.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Emergency Stops on Z-Axis

Hi, Gordon,

I had problems in the beginning with this as well, and what I experienced (right from the factory) was the Z slide was not adjusted properly, and was too loose of a setup. This would trigger the e-stops frequently, and frustrated me quite a bit.

The Taig videos were not available back then, but this might be of help to you:

Just a note, the Taig DSLS3000 has steppers, not servos (yes I know they call it a "servo" system).
