Galil / Re: Galil + MPG

Hello there,

Will the combination of Mach3 + galil motion controller also work with stepper motor and with a linear encoder for control?
In the galilplugin.pdf it mentions MPG [I'm guessing rotary] but I would like to use a linear one.

Show"N"Tell ( Your Machines) / Retrofitted Emco-clone mill

Greetings,

Just wanted to share some pictures of my retro-fitted mill, which is an Emco clone.
It previously had a round tubular Z-axis, a picture is shown of this.
This is replaced with a square tube equipped with some lineair guidance, works better for cnc

Now working on the cabinet with Gecko drives and PMDX boards.
Still to do are glass encoders.

Greetings fellow machinists,

Thanks for the invitation, my name is Hans and I live in Holland.
In daily life I'm a cost engineer working for a contractor in offshore projects.

CNC is my hobby.
Although I've not used Mach3 a lot sofar, this will change in future as I more or less finished converting an Emco FB2 clone [clone's name is Fusan FV-320T].
Will in future, if possible, post some pictures showing it.

Next to that I also own a Fusan 280 x 650 lathe, an electrode welding apparatus, swivel metal band saw and a grinder.

And all this in our nice and cosy apartment complex 
Big fun, especially trying to use a blunt cut off tool.
