Finished Plugins for Download / Re: A new Huanyang VFD plugin

No help out there? I have to press the E-stop for every tool change. That tells me that the stop command works but is not being sent in normal operation. This is really annoying.

Hi all,

I'm having a small issue with the plugin. Due to a problem with the motor tuning dialog not opening I had to re-install Mach3. Since then the spindle won't stop if started. regardless of a manual start or a G-code start as part of a toolpath, once the spindle starts it will not turn off. I have to hit the emergency stop. This did not happen before the re-install. There must be some setting I haven't made but I'm at a loss of where to start.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have a rather odd problem running a spindle via a Huanyang VFD and a USB - RS485 com-port. I'm using Mach3 with the modbus plugin.

Everything works fine if I load G-Code and run it. The spindle turns on when it should and runs at the correct speed and in the correct direction.

If I start the spindle manually by first inputting an RPM and then pressing the screen-button it turns backward. My first thought was that I didn't make a setting somewhere but the problem is stranger. If I first start G-Code and press the stop button as soon as the spindle starts, I can then start it manually and it turns in the correct direction. If I change the speed, however, it reverts and turns backward again.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance,
DB

Mach SDK plugin questions and answers. / Xbox 360 Button mapping
« on: August 02, 2018, 05:21:42 PM »
Thanks to the help I received here my controller is now working. For reasons of vanity, I plan on making a housing that looks like it belongs to a CNC rather than a toy. Before I engrave the faceplate I would like to hear how others have mapped the buttons. Please let me know what functions you have assigned to which buttons on a 3/4-axis milling machine.

@ mods - if this is the wrong place please move it to the correct sub-forum.

Thanks,
DB

The plugin sets the values to 0 because the plugin does not recognize the controller as being valid. Some of the Speedlink controllers do not send valid packets to the driver so the driver doesn't know what to do with it.  Basically, you just need to get a different controller. The XBox360 controllers are pretty inexpensive.  Sorry I can't be more help.

Thanks, Lee. At least I know it's not a case of my sanity.

I'Ve installed the plugin but I can't get it to work. I'm using a clone controller from Speedlink and when I input the VID (1A34) and PID (0802) it won't save. It's not a read-only issue since I can change the button mapping without a problem. I can also save the correct values in the config file when input through an XML-editor. As long as I don't start Mach3 they remain correct but as soon as I start the values are returned to 0x0000. I must be doing something wrong but I can't for the life of me think what it is.

BTW the controller is fine. Windows diagnostics work and if I install the joystick plugin I can get X and Y moving.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

HI,

I realize this thread is somewhat old but since I'm having the exact same issue I thought it would be better than starting a new thread.

I'm using an Xbox360 clone controller. When I input the VID and PID it doesn't stick. I tried the solution above but can't seem to get that to stick either. When I uncheck the box in the properties everything seems to work but when I re-open the folder properties it's checked again. It shouldn't make a difference anyway. If I check the attribute through the command prompt it is not write protected. In fact, I can change anything I want in the folder. I have tried manually changing the PID and VID in the mach3.xml but it gets changed back as soon as I open Mach3.

For clarity, I'm running XP as an admin so this is not a permissions issue. DirectX and .net-framework as well as Windows have all been updated. Mach 3 is the newest licensed version directly from the website.

The years have cost me a lot of hair but this is making me pull out the rest. I spent almost the whole day trying everything I could find that seemed related but I can't get it to work. My hair and I would really appreciate any help we can get.

Thanks
DB
