Well I got my motors and everything working great now. I did some cnc work on my lathe this weekend by just hand coding the g code and it worked great. But now I want to add some home switchs so I dont have to adjust my code everytime. Can you guys give me some pointers on which brand and model home switchs and a spindle sensor would be good for a sieg lathe?

Thanks, Tim

On my lathe I am reusing the stock cross slide screw and I am not positive how to set it up.

I have learned that the cross slide moves .0394 per revolution.

The motor is direct coupled to the screw.

My stepper driver uses 8 micro steps

Do I need more info than this?
I came up with 40,608 Mach 3 steps per unit.

Thanks, Tim

Yes..jog's green led is on. moving the arrows does nothing.

turn jog inc on also and I can press the arrow and it will move the set distance or I can press shift+arrow and it will move really fast.

with just jog on I cant get it to do anything.

I am new to this..which xml file?

Thanks for showing me that handy screen.  ;)

Still no luck though. I tried changing slow jog% to 0,25,50,75, and 100 and still could not get it to work.

For some reason I cannot get my motors to jog except with Jog INC on. When jog INC is on I can make the motors move incremental or I can fast move them using ********* + arrow key. But, with jog INC off and regular jog on I cant get them to move with or without holding the shift key down. Any thoughts?
