Setting your work offsets in your machine to the same zero (origin) as the program ( gcode) was made to . To verify this you can either make a plus offset in your tool geometry offset or remove to tool from the spindle and let it run without a tool , or remove the part and run it without a part to see where it goes . There are several ways to verify where the g code will start so remember we don't and can't see what you see so describe in detail

Hello kamon1...can you explain a bit more about framing ? You have to remember not everyone uses the same software so you have to describe in detail what it is you want ?? Framing ?? Do you mean checking the location of your work piece so you know where the tool will be doing its work??

Brian can u give a little bit more info like what u r trying to do beside just hook up the mpg...did u get the plug in from this xhc board ? If mach 3 does not have a plug in it will not see the encoder and that is what the "wheel" is acting as. What type of BOB r u using ?? Does the BOB ( break out board ) what an encoder connection?? There is alot of info missing for us ( the fourm) to be able to help u .... we can't see what u see so u r gonna have to explain in detail what u have and what u want that equipment to do

Thanks for the Reply
Yes i have used the Fanuc up to 30i so just different way of doing stuff to Ma3/4
Large industrial machines with expensive options i can not afford is the companies i worked for
I just keep getting ask to work on 3040 and 6080 Routers and stuff so i guess going to have to try and get the hold of a System and do some self teaching
Again thank you  for the Reply and information
Ulstermanone, ur not in this alone I am the same ( cnc programmer ) fanuc, haas , and mazak and going to mach 3 from faunc ....mach 3 at home and fanuc at work I can say this mach 3 mill is closer to a fanuc than the mach turn. The mach turn uses a master tool acting as a g54 zero setting for all other tools . U can look up setting offsets in mach3 on YouTube and look for a guy that goes by the name of FRANCO cool guy no shady dealings and knows alot about diy routers and lathes ( harborfreight lathes) . I am fluent with Mastercam 2020 and older as well as fanuc and fadal haas etc. So if I can help just let me know i learned from YouTube to be honest.  Alot of the guys here either have given up on mach3 for there own reasons or just want to promote mach4 ...but some of us can't afford to change setups let me know if u can help

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 with STB5100
« on: January 15, 2021, 08:14:00 AM »
Hi, thanks for the reply. The driver I'm using the TB6600 4 axis driver. The stepper motors are working fine. It's the communication from Mach3 to the VFD that I haven't figured out yet. Difficult to find more documentation. I was looking to make sure I had the right pin number because it's connected to FWD and AVI. I'll go through the supplied manual again.
You might want to check out Drufel cnc.com go to the menu button and go to supported controllers. I know drufel cnc is not what you are using but there is a ton of helpful docs on the website about what you are asking

General Mach Discussion / MPG problem
« on: March 16, 2020, 09:59:24 AM »
Hey guys ,
I have a wired mpg from ebay I had hell getting this thing to work and with a lot of help from this fourm and a few others I was able to get it to work..... well I should use that word lightly the MPG moves the machine.. when I jog in any axis mach3 switches the axis to x everytime no matter what the MPG is set on and the res.( .1,.01,.001 ) dont work either they change on the flyout but the machine does not change. The other thing is it will only jog in the plus direction when I turn the wheeel counterclockwise it moves in the same direction . It feels like there is maybe a loose connection or something because it will work right for a second and then it will not do anything it is like it cuts in and out . Am i getting interference from something inside the controller box? Can anyone help I have had hell with this thing  >:(
