Ess warp 9 on there website have a post processor that does what you want for mach 4 using a proma thc up down inputs .. all for mach 4
I have a hicon running mach 4 plasma 2 years now  the hicon it the only way to go with plasma and mach 4 . I used the ess and tmc3 it no hicon buy far having 5 volt I o with plasma just asking for noise in the controller  I have tested quite a fiew controllers masso also .

that what I figured.. I built several plasma tables using the hicon integra.  the main question is what controller supports the voltage input they added to the screen. what controller even supports the plasma screen. and it features .  my guess no one yet.
I do a lot of plasma and thc needs fast response. in real time. thers no need for a slow thc  you cut at 230 ipm the thc needs to keep up.
this was a big problem with mach 3 . and windows . so units like the nuron and the mini came out . to take thc out of the pc control.
and be more intergrated and control the z motor directly.

I see the mach 4 plasma screen is now out    what controller supports the THC function it also has a voltage read how does that work what controller supports that a voltage input.. 

how good does THC inputs using the up down in  pc work. not running in real time   like ess tmc3 and vitalsystem hicon mini now out in mach 4

I understand that ESS warp 9 is working on a plugin for THC should be out in the next couple of weeks  does this mean Artsoft will have there plasma screen out

ok thanks I will try I have some time to day to check  I don't think I tried with the thc off that might be the problem 
then ill do screen shots and do the upgrade  I upgrade the firmware also
if I have trouble ill give you guys a call

op date I loaded a fresh demo of mach 4  installed the new arch pro screen

I see the same green light on for thc down in the mach diag screen

and if I use m3 and cycle start the mdi  the jog buttons do not work till you push stop
this is not hooked to the controller with this test 
so how does one fire the torch and jog the software

ok for some time now  I been asking.   I need to fire the torch and be able jog the machine  I get told m3 fires the torch  well it does not on my system
if I put m3 in the mdi the only thing that happens is the torch lowers about a 1/4 inch every medi start push . history says no reference found  keep pushing it keeps going down once the digital in switch hits nothing works
then I cant move the jog button  I have to disable then enable to clear what ever gets stuck  

I do have a torch on button when I push that torch lowers then digital input triggers torch fires . but the jog buttons do not work till torch turns off

what am I doing wrong  or is there some thing wrong  this has never worked since day 1  being able to manualy move the torch would realy help me to make small cuts
im getting tired of making lines in cad and cam posting them its getting old
 
I know there is a firmware update and a new arch pro screen update I did not load  . I did  not want to make things worse  

also I have a thc down light on all the time once you enable this is a mach diag light  not a screen thc light
this is something in the soft ware it self its not a wire there are no led on in the controller
changing input status in mach does nothing  I  loaded mach 4 demo in another computer and installed the arch pro screen
not hooked to the controller it does the same thing  ....   the thc up down does work the lights on the screen go on and off test the proma and using it and the z goes up down

I spoke with someone on the phone several weeks ago.  about all of the above was told I get an email you look in to this  I never got an answer

would loading the new arch pro screen fix this   please let me know

Ok that answers the question   I can remove the proma. up down inputs  and the digital in put still does it thing with the screen settings .
What I have is a THC unit that does step direction connect would be between the hicon and the z motor driver. Once it sees arch voltage from the plasma it sends arch ok so what should happen digital in put on the z will move to the settings on the screen fire the torch.
My THC will then go active send arch ok and take control of torch height control.  after cut the hicon has control over the z motor
I guess I’ll have to try this.   The proma is what it is it lacks in speed due to its mechanical design relays telling the torch to move up and down
Try cutting corrugated metal with it lacks speed   as most the do with up down input I’m sure the hicon does the reaction in real time .for its THC.   This is why an integrated THC is much better also the proma lacks adjustments it is what it is
I also have another THC with up down I’m going to try also. 
My final choice would be to install the neuron unit with the hicon 
I really like the hicon it’s a good controller works well

Is there a way I can just use the torch digital input. Keep the setting for pierce height cut height. No THC.  Up down inputs .needed ..Reason I have a THC unit that connects directly between the motor driver and the controller for step direction
The unit controls the THC z motor directly and sends an arch ok to the controller.   Will this work with the hicon controller
This is an intergraded unit and will respond way faster cutting things like diamond plate
 The arch up down THC is just not cutting it its way too hard to get right it can’t clime a slope like corrugated meal if I set the max height to high things will happen lift the torch to high the slider is way too fast or to slow   I think an intergraded unit not relying on Mach 4 to do the thc would be better   Thanks Jeff c

Several weeks ago I called and asked several questions and was told will look in to it and email you   

1 I noticed the down light stays lit in in the Mach 4 machine dig screen.  This is not wire problem it will do it with just the arch pro screen loaded in the demo
All the up down lite on the arch pro screen work and correspond with the proma.  I find the up down THC just does not have the response when cutting I thought maybe the light might be a problem It comes on as soon as you enable the unit
I find the THC very hard to use and set right the reaction is either to fast or to slow.   unless I set the max and minim height for very minimal movement off the pierce height
It does not really work that good... 
I like to run an integrated one. But found the digital input for initial height sense does not work if the THC is turned off. So how I make the digital input work with THC off...  I would like to be able to turn off the THC and still use the digital input for initial height sense

2 how do I jog the machine when I push torch on button. You can’t use jog how does one move the gantry to do a manual cut the manual says it will work. And does not the jog functions are not actable 


3   I noticed there is a new firm ware up date and new arch pro screen on the new screen there is no torch on button.. I was told just use m5 well m5 does not fire the torch 
So how do you fire the torch with the new screen   and has the THC been fixed to work better
