PoKeys / Re: Error: Connection to slow

If you update the pokeys plugin data for mach4, you have to delete the old already existing one in this folder (or copy them for backup on another location). I made the mistake to simply rename the files and deactivate them in the mach4 plugin menue. But i don‘t know whether it is the issue on your side.

OK! Solved. Old plugin must be deleted from the folder and not only be deactivated.

PoKeys / Error: Connection to slow
« on: March 31, 2018, 03:36:28 PM »
Hi. After updating to the recent pokeys software release 4.3.20 & firmware 4.3.16 for my pokeys57cnc, i got some problems.

1. start up in mach4:
- Message: Check connection with the pokeys device (Error: connection too slow) Check that fast USB option is enabled in your pokeys device.
- Message: Check the device configuration - enable Fast USB option in your PoKeys device.

I had a look to the config but didn't found a dedicated function. I read the docs and they told me to got to settings-->enable fast usb...but there isn't such a function. Then i went to device-->USB interface-->Select USB interfaces... but all interfaces are already selected.

Does anyone know this issue?

OK. Thanks Craig. I will have a closer look to the board doc.

I got a tip to solve this by adjusting the “Debounce interval” and “Index debounce” settings. unfortunately in  mach3. I could not found this function in mach4. Does it exist in mach4?

Thank you for your post. i‘m really new to cnc. 3 month ago i had no idea what it is and how it works. Now, 3 month later i build one. It sounds reasonable to me, that during a homing process a limit switch can simply be handled as a home switch. I‘had no idea, that there could be a problem. It works for all axis but not at my z. My z pulls back a bit and stops, without releasing the switch. I ordered some inductive switches last week but for now im interested in solving this problem as it is. Any idea how to handle this inerruption. Can i do something in my Pokeys57cnc?

Well, that‘s why i‘m asking. I have no idea and i‘m searching for a way to change the distance the z axisis has to drive back after homing.

Hi

I have an issue with my cnc. Homing my z-Axis works fine until the switch will be activated. Then it runs into an Limit-Switch error. It seems, that Mach4/Pokeys doesn't retract the Z-Axis far enough to release the switch after homing. Is there a way to adjust the distance of the Z-Axis, that the switch will be released after homing? i don't know if it's an issue with Mach4 or Pokeys57cnc. All other axis working fine.

Thanks

PoKeys / Re: Pokeys57cnc homing one axis with 2 motors each side

Sorry for the missleading title. Not 2 motors each side. I ment 2 motors for one Axis (Y), one master, one slave.

PoKeys / Pokeys57cnc homing one axis with 2 motors each side

Hi all

My Y-Axis direction consist of two motors Y and A (slave). At the positive direction i have mounted shared limit+/homing Switch for the A-Motor (left side) and a Limit+ Switch on the Y-Motor (right side). I set up the homing procedure and run into the following problem in Mach4.

Homing the Y-Axis needs that both switches will be hit, what i don‘t want. I only want the Switch on the A Motor (left) to be the home switch. So i deactivated the homing switch in pokeys configuration within Mach4 for the Y Motor. My Problem is, that now only the motor of the A-Axis works during homing (sounds nice). It seems, that mach4 use this motors independently (in homing process) althought Y is bundled as slave.

To be clear. If i use both switches as homeswitch it will work. But i only want to use one switch as home switch. the other should only be a limit+ switch.

What can i do, that i can use only the left side as a home position but in the homing process the right motor will also handled as a slave.
